Well if it's anything like their service it's lousy. Remember going postal. Though the pay is good.

I think people quit good jobs because

They feel like they are not appreciated. Management tends to not ask how the family life is. What is going on in your life?

Thanks you to our Veterans and their families!

I love that we as a nation pause to acknowledge our pride, debt and gratitude to our awesome Veterans. Saluting and appreciating all of you who have put yourself in harms way, or threat thereof, to preserve our freedoms. But this year we can do more than salute. We can help right a wrong. Did you know the GI Bill - a powerhouse piece of legislation that really helped create our middle class - basically excluded Veterans of color in its application? Once you learn that you get pretty upset - no matter your political leanings. Returning vets should get same benefits no matter their color of course. Well, there is a piece of legislation now in Congress trying to address this wrong. You can learn a bit about it here. And then, I encourage you to call your reps and leave a msg of support. You can find their contact info through this link: https://lnkd.in/etiD9nKy

Our veterans deserve our support. Some have received more than others. They all have deserved it. Lets correct a wrong and keep striving to help our veterans who have so valiantly earned it.

honorable veterans day thank you to all who served, and their families who have supported them. #veteransupport #StrongerTogether #USA

All jobs should have...

I feel the most important thing that a job has to offer is management that cares about the employees that they have. If management really truly cares about the employees then everything else will be taken care of. As an employee you will happy because you're respected and treated faìrly.

It depends on what part of SSA you work in. If you work in one of the field offices there far more opportunities for advancement. If you work in a disability hearings office (like I do) you are limited in opportunities for advancement once reach a GS - 9. This is why I am seeking career opportunities with another federal agency. Best of luck in your career pursuits.

Hi Robin I like what Ronald said; it does depend on the department that you work in as far as performance measures, coaching buddy system, the culture developed within the depart and all the individual personalities and culture backgrounds very co- worker brings to the table. Now what I will say is if you don’t the stress or pressure of performance measures alongside of the consistent nepotism that tends to be filtrated within the core of the SSA, I’d say it’s like any other “job”.. or “career” (.. your preference), I’d say give anything a chance if you got chances to take. No matter where you work the $ spends the same, it’s just if it pays enough for your satisfaction to sustain the lifestyle that fulfills your needs and wants- it’s a plus if you really dig it!

It's awful people no call no show all the time favorites get promoted over hard workers it's supposed to b a team setting but the people who come to actually work get taken advantage of and they expect you to cover other people's shifts when they don't show
