Hair Follicle Testing
Did you know hair testing is not a DOT testing requirment. But if failed CAN and MAY be reported on your DAC report as a failed test, depending on a trucking companys policy. Double standard.
For example when i first started my trucking career. I was going to go with a company called USXpress. I thought long and hard because they did hair follicle as part of there testing with the urine. Even though its not DOT requirement, still if failed can be reported on DAC. I heard so many stories about false positive when taking this test.
Im not a fan of this type testing, how about you? # #jobsearch #advice #management #trucking

The struggle is REAL!
First, time in jail and coming out feels like anything I do I can never move forward and with my family they cut me off. So my support that I always had was gone. I have two sons that are the greatest people I know but hurts me that I've become a worry for them. I've tried to get a job. It been hard. Than soon will be homeless. Idk this all brings tears to my eyes. I'm trying not to give up on hope. I was in the medical field for 25 yrs as a phlebotomist I'm not certified but I've been doing it for ab 15vyrs and just seems like no one will give me a chance. #termination #advice #interview #management #jobsearch #

What Should I Do?
I work at a resort and since I started my AM supervisor has been having problems with all the co-workers except me I don't like work drama so I am very cordial with everyone and don't listen to drama about anyone to change my view about them, this Supervisor is an elder over the age of 76 so I would assume that people were just starting problems for no reason, I came to the realization that the supervispr was being 2 faced with me and would act all friendly to me and ask for my help which I always do, and came to find out that she went to the big bosses the other day and told them I work on my businesses when Im working and other personal stuff instead of doing actual work and just wonder around because I declined to help her because I was busy with stuff I need to complete before I had to leave, I work on my side businesses on my days off and before work I only showed my coworkers my finished product, so now my bosses assume that I dont work at all and all I do is roam around when in fact Im trying to help a guest. Today I came in and said hello to her and went about me day, she asked me where I was going knowing I was getting my morning coffee as I always do but I responded I was getting something instead of going into detail after that the supervisor was on my butt about the other coworkers over printing an extra 40 papers and kept going on about how the GM wouldn't be mad because the papers cost 2 cents and it was done by mistake. 30 minutes later I was called into the director of operations office with the supervisor I was confused, the supervisor told her story first to the DOO and said I was very disrespectful and yelling at her which I never have been and everyone that I work with knows I don't act like that. My DOO acknowledge every word she said, and when it was my turn t explain what happened and explain there must have been a confusion my DOO said alright and when back to the supervisor to listen to what she had to say and basically brushed me off, the supervisor out of no where turns to me and gives me the fakest most sarcastic apology ever saying oh I'm sorry about this and sorry about that when I never asked for an apology in front of the DOO and she didn't even say anything I started working at the place starting May so I have been here for 7 months I've noticed that since I started working everyone would have problems with her and she gets her way and I am not the one to just forgive and forget and work side by side after all of that. I HATE WORK DRAMA AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AND TRY TO AVOID IT AND NOW THIS HAPPENS. What should I do because I wont let no one speak lies on my name, and not only that but now my managers assume that Im not working at all when I'm at work since they cant see my computer when Im the only that makes sure everything is getting completed WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!! should I put my 2 week in or take it in another direction #management #disrespect

John frontero is a slime ball that should be avoided at all costs, totally unethical and didn't want to pay what I rightfully earned. Took me to arbitration where he lost as the panel did not believe a word he said,. Did I say he's a fucking liar as the panel did not believe him, #advice #management

Communication working in Retail
Working in Retail communication is very important. Starts with Management as well all employees. The best way to have good communication is to have a plan. Embrace digital communication. I know this very well, when I was a Store Manager, my employees did not have access to company email at that time. But everyone had a smartphone. Theirs bulletin boards that can be set up in breakrooms right? #advise #management

Taking away bonus pay
What are your thoughts on this? I picked up a shift then my infant was sick but I worked my original shift and called in the shift i picked up. Sounds like I am being treated like a student instead of a valued employee. Insane! #management #advice

Fired for Sending a Harsh Message
An Olive Garden Manager was upset that too many staff members were calling off. So she sent an email saying, “We are no longer tolerating ANY EXCUSE for calling off. If you’re sick, you need to come prove it to us. If your dog died, you need to bring him in and prove it to us. If it’s a ‘family emergency’ and you can’t say, too bad. Go work somewhere else.”
The manager said that she had gone in for shifts when ill and even once after her car was destroyed in a crash. She ended the note thanking the employees who did come on time.
Olive Garden fired her because her message didn’t align with their values. Do you think it was right to fire her or did she just need a time-out? What has been your experience when it comes to calling off work?

Who was your favorite employer and why?
Spending the majority of my career working for different employers, there were definitely some that I liked more than others! I spent some time managing a showroom where I really enjoyed my 2 female employers. What I liked most was that they trusted me and valued my opinion. I was always included in the conversation rather than being someone on the outside carrying out duties. That gave me the extra confident boost to WANT to succeed and do well.
Where there any employers that you've had that stood out to you? What did you like about them?

Anyone who values their workers, pays them fairly and is reasonable when it comes to time off, and takes their opionion into consideration are the best employers to work for.
Years ago I work at a store in Chicago on State Street Marshall Fields no longer in business. I was a part time cosmetic floater. I enjoyed working with my Managers and I met a lot of celebrities, that came to the store location.
