Can you be fired after working a job a month?
I have a friend who worked for this company for a month. He was on probation and his felony was agreed to a misdemeanor but currently until his 2 year probabtion is over he has to deal with the felony on his record. The company he worked for didn’t say anything, neither did he. He quit his previous job and gave his 100 to the new one because it was everything he wanted to do. Well, after a month and a week they call him into the office to tell him his background check returned.…and they can’t employ him. Is This ok? Can companies hire you on, and than terminate you if they didn’t follow the normal protocol of background check first than offering the job? #termination #management #backgroundcheck #advice

I work for aerotek Tha fired me cause Tha say I was drinking mix drink on launch break

I quit my job because it was getting too dangerous and management didn't care.
I quit my job because it was getting too dangerous and management didn't care. Unemployment denied my claim - a month later an employee at another store showed up and shot up the place even though they were warned that something was wrong (yes that is the store) because management didn't care, and just yesterday my old store location was allowed to stay open without having running water because management didn't care. If an employee says the job is getting too dangerous when will management and unemployment start caring? #unemployment #management #giveadamn #care

Did You Already Have Your Annual Job Review?
I was told last week that we will be having an annual job review for everyone before the end of the year. It made me reflect on all my past supervisors and managers. When my managers were good, their constructive criticism did help me become a better worker. I am truly grateful for the insights they provided. When they were not good managers, it was painful to sit through a review when I just wanted to tell them none of these are my issues. You created this mess. But of course, you can’t and so you nod and smile and say you’ll work on them.
I once had a boss give me a review and at the end ask me if there was some feedback I would like to give her. Right when I was about to talk, she stopped me and said, “Don’t, I don’t want to hear it.” I just laughed it off because I could sense she was very uncomfortable about what I was about to say.
What has been your experience during a review? Do you look forward to them? What was the craziest thing that was said to you.

What Made You Quit
If you have a customer-oriented job, then you are bound to run into not-so-nice customers. However, everyone has a breaking point. I had a friend who was going to grad school and waitressing part-time for income. This restaurant she was working at, seemed like the customers were often very difficult and always left bad tips. Once she was serving a large table, and they were very fussy. She did everything to make them happy. Once they were done and paid, my friend went to the table to pick up her tip. The person who paid left her a tip of $1.50 in coins! Not sure if it was stress, frustration, or just reaching a breaking point, my friend ran up to the woman as she was leaving. She said, “Excuse me, you forgot your change.” Naturally the lady was very offended and asked for a manager. Her supervisor fired her on the spot.
Fortunately, she was able to find another job quickly. She has worked at many other restaurants since then but says nothing was as bad as that restaurant.
How would you have handled this situation? Have you ever reached a breaking point and ended up quitting because you had enough? #termination #management

Searching for position

What should I do if my mom had a heart attack, and my employer doesn’t seem to care?
I texted my boss about two hours before my shift started to say it was an emergency and I needed to take my mom to the hospital. I’ve been giving them updates but they’ve been very vague, only receiving a response when I first messaged and the first update with, “thanks for the update.” I text them again last night saying I wouldn’t be in today and I was planning on going in tomorrow, but I got no response. I have been looking for new opportunities as this job wasn’t my niche but it makes me feel really upset. I understand the frustration and that my work now falls onto the hands of someone else, but it just makes me feel like they don’t really care. What do you think? # #advice #management

When you have people working in subordinate positions, treat them as you would want to be treated. Respect and kindness work to your advantage. #management

What should I do?
I have 6+ years of management and training but everything in my area want to low-ball me into taking less than what I can bring to the company like working crew for $7 less than what I previously made causing me to have to decline. I need a job as soon as possible #jobsearch #management #advice

In my experience a lot of companies have a cap at what they can offer and yes it can sometimes backfire on you if you mention what the “average pay” is somewhere else or on a website but it certainly doesn’t hurt to let them know that with all of your experience you would like for them to at least “see” if there’s any chance they could offer more. It also depends on if you are able to decline offers and wait for a salary you deserve. I know it’s hard but if you are worth more than they are willing to pay then I would decline and keep looking

Amazing benfits
Amazing pay would’ve been great when I was a caregiver but I’m not a caregiver anymore for those that are caregiving. It would be awesome but I am retired and I need my benefits, but I didn’t get any while I was a caregiver, so good luck with the caregivers cause I really do deserve a better pay. #management
Most states are "at will employers" which means they can fire an employee at will without cause. Also be aware that a company can fire you after 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week - if they so choose; so it doesn't matter that they fired him after only 1 month. He was hired and fired at the company's discretion which is their right and prerogative.
As far as the company not following protocol of the background check in the first place - your friend would have to prove that and then determine if there is any legal precedence - a process that could prove timely and costly. He should just move on and make sure that his background information is cleared before he embarks on his next employment venture. I wish him good luck.
