Cover letter advise

I am wanting to change career fields. Cover letters stress me out. I enjoy writing. However, I am at a loss as to where to begin with my cover letter and how to write a cover letter that's eye catching. Any suggestions? #careeradvice #coverletter

I understand if you are good with the computer and various programs there is a website called www.upworks.com and companies hire people to do contract positions. The positions vary and some could be permanent other smaller jobs. Also, having garage sales may produce extra income. If you have the stuff to sell you can consider selling at the flea markets. You can get a food safety license online Mine cost $19.00 and you can work doing food sampling at your local grocery stores. I have worked with thebigorangetalentportal.com They will send you different events in your area and you pick which ones you want to do some pay I usually get paid $75 for four hours. You get paid a month out but if you start doing the events at a weekly routine it doesn't take long before you are making steady pay. Then the food safety license can lead to other positions. Check and register with staffing companies can help too. Babysitting positions. Call centers are now offering positions working from your own home. Also selling items on ebay.com or Amazon.com, also the Facebook marketplace. I have sold a car, jewelry, and a gemstone on the FaceBook marketplace They are now set up to include shipping so you can print your shipping label and ship directly to your customers. They pay through the site just like eBay and you get paid shortly afterward. They are offering no fees through December. I hope this helps. I have been looking for a steady position since January. But have struggled for some time now. I guess we just have to be creative.

You know what Nicole, I spent amount twenty one years wasting away my talent in the art world that could show these college students the basics in getting back to the root of there field I'm 46 years old and spent my life at bettering my skills and what ever choice you make, make it count and hit them hard because even though they are younger they don't have the wisdom of knowledge that comes from being our age you stated you have kids well use their wisdom of the youth and combined the two and set the world on fire; also look towards the designer world and get into an art field you don't need look younger to create bolder John

How do I address my obvious lapse in employment?

New member Debbie Cruz raises some pretty serious concerns in her recent post Seeking advice on resume and frank discussion on age !.

"will anyone be interested in hiring me at my rather advanced age?"

Extended lapse in employment to care for ailing parents and/or Loved ones, re-entering the workforce in a new profession at an advanced age, finding work life or manageable work/life balance are a series of concerns affecting job seekers of all ages today.

How do qualified candidates like Debbie attract employer attention and remain competitive in todays impersonal and highly automated employment community?

Your suggestions, comments, and tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

How to: Keeping busy!

I have four more days until I begin my new role, and I am starting to feel like that time will fly by and I won't have used it to my advantage. One thing I know about myself is that I need to feel productive and always keep myself moving and doing things that will be good for me and my friends and family.

One way I continue to accomplish my goals; whether or not they be small or large; is to make lists.

I set up realistic lists of tasks, and break it out by the days of the week - I find handwriting always helps. Then I go about my day crossing off tasks. It feels good to close out even just one task.

To summarize!

  1. ALWAYS handwrite what you need to get done
  2. Break your tasks into smaller, more achievable daily lists
  3. Cross out tasks as you go
  4. Include fun tasks for yourself, as well as helpful tasks for others
  5. Have fun!

Hope this helps someone. Let me know how you keep busy during down time.

How to start a business

I have always enjoyed baking and cake decorating. Since 2014 I've made this my side hustle but I would like to get the ball rolling for this to be my main source of income. Can anyone let me know what are the main keys to get started. I have a current job that I am scared to leave due to security and benefits. The "leap of faith" scares the heck out of me though...
