I think it depends on the position. Having been on both sides, I think adaptability and a willingness to learn can be a great asset with or with out experience. You do however need a personality that fits the company and position.

I think age is discrimination ups won’t let you continue with your application if you are over 40 one of there questions. For all you know you could be 60 and healthier then a 40yr old

Don't be discouraged by what others say. There is a job market out there and you don't necessarily need a four year or masters degree.

You are looking for training and I'm assuming you want to take this online. Two places come to mind. www.Udemy.com and www.AWAI.com. Udemy, you will have to take more classes but the classes definitely cost less. Right now, Udemy is offering their cyberdeals (last days though) on classes at $9.99 each. AWAI has some good bargains as well. You can become a copywriter in one month for less than $500.

If you are unsure of what you want to do, you might want to check out www.16personalities.com. There you will take a professional test similar to the Meyer-Briggs test. They will email you the results. All of which may help you make a determination in your career choice. BTW, this is free!

I wish you luck!

It depends on the PM skill set you would like to know, but the PMI is a renowned organization that provides training and knowledge for this area.

Getting started

Hi. I'm Ginny. I have my cdl but have had nothing but problems getting started. I went to school at a mega company, got my cdl but didn't get the road hrs..still being charged 6k. Disaster from the start. I actually got to drive 10k miles with small company in SC..which I wasn't covered by their insurance so there were things I couldn't do. So basically I need a trainer for road time. Ive spoken to several companies and been turned down. Is it possible to obtain without starting over in another school?

There are companies willing to train Alexis. Do some searching on Google for entry level virtual assistants positions. Good Luck to you.

I worked as a fragrance vendor to represent the company through Dillard's and Macy's. It's more promotional and sales to help the counter reps boost their sales. You just have to be personable, not afraid to approach people, and know about fragrances. It's really a fun job...you meet a lot of people, and u get to look cute!
