I was in the retail industry for 5 years +. I was injured fall of 2021 and have not been back to work. Because of where my injury is I can not do the same physical labor. I have taken a dispatching course but have no formal training. Looking for remote work that provides training and opportunities for advancement. Good leads only please. #jobsearch #workfromhome #advice #training
Today I had a training session for my new job. I’ve worked for this company for 3 years, but it’s a different franchise. I shadowed other employees for 5 and a half hours today, when my other shadowing at 2 other franchises were only just an hour long. Anyways, I was not told up front how long I would be there, just to show up at 2pm. I find out how long I’m working (inconvenient considering I didn’t bring water or snacks) with no break. As I’m leaving, I ask how to log my hours for the day as it was not mentioned before. They told me I don’t get paid for my first day of training. Is this suspicious? Should I quit on the spot? #advice #management #training

They do have a lot of training, you can always ask for you are not sure what to do. Yes they do have computer classes but they are not like training on the floor.

I started a new position on November 29, 2021. As of today it was decided that it was not a good fit. I sit and I wonder why. As when you start a new position there is always going to be a learning curve, and training. Well the learning curve is there, but there was no training. I went into something that I have never done before. I developed the social media, Facebook, LinkedIn, brought in my own leads as I was not given any. Unfortunately it takes time to build that pipeline. I think that things were about to turn around and then the axe fell at 10:30 this morning. I am now back to seeking new employment. If any of you have a new opportunity I would love to hear about it. #termination #management #training #jobsearch
