Walmart on 4021 Lagniappe Way

I am a associate that works at Walmart in 4021 Lagniappe Way Tallahassee Florida 32317 store #4520 I have called out a couple of times due to baby being took to er, to me being rushed to er or my husband being rushed to er. Everytime I called out the hr lady would say I’m going to be terminated which isn’t right when someone can help that they are sick. Also other associates have been having issues with her too. The other day after returning from my sisters wedding I was suppose to take a shift At work for someone. I ended up having to call in because code enforcement showed up at my door to make sure my house was livable. Come to find out they said we had to get all our things and move out cause it’s getting condemned that isn’t safe for 5 babies to be in or us adults. The next day I sent the hr lady a text saying I won’t be able to work at that walmart I’m moving. mind you I been asking a week before code enforcement came if I can get a transfer to the other Walmart that I would be close to because I already knew my place was gonna be getting condemned so I would have to go stay with a friend. She texted back that I have been terminated due to attendance that she was suppose to fix is what corporate said and I was on my days off when she supposedly terminated me that she wishes me luck. She kept saying since I’m in my 90 days she said I can’t. I ended calling corporate telling them what’s going on they said she has to give me a hardship transfer and she never terminated me that she was trying to get me to loose my job. They also said they will get ahold of my store manager let her know what’s going on and get her to call me to get everything straightened out and get my transfer done. It’s been 3 days and still no phone call from the store manager. Only from the hr manager which corporate said that to not go through her no more to go through my store manager to stay clear. Little does the hr manager knows I’ve worked for Walmart 2 1/2 year ago. I’m not new to this. I know everything about it. I’m sick and tired of how Walmart it treating me I’m still a associate is what it says in their system and I’m still trying to get my store manager to give me a hardship transfer. #walmart #termination #management #advice

Does anyone else hate their current job?

I recently accepted a job offer, and a few days in and I already hate it. No one knows anything. Everyone is lost on what to do. Almost everyone, and I mean almost EVERYONE, QUIT. There are only four people, including myself, and they're new like me. The one who "knows" the most has only been at the company for a month. Like wtf? The boss is a lunatic who only cares about money and sending fucking emojis. Anyway, I start sending jobs application again. I thought I was done with that. Sorry for the bad grammar. # #management #advice #jobsearch

What do you do when your day has been a two part Jerry Springer Episode, when you finally get back home, to destress?

My day as a care provider started out rotten. By noon I felt a rare migraine coming on. Lets just say for me it's very hard to play in the sandbox when the other kids are just so obnoxious and out of hand, screaming and yelling at the same time I'm trying to build several castles at once for safe haven! I went home, supervisor approved 4 hours early..... #advice #wordsofadvice #jobsearch #management

The deli Downtown in cortland NY is run by a sexist manager.

My boyfriend recetly quit the deli downtown. And I have the urge to share his experiences while working there for three years. They don’t sit well with me and it shows management for while has had a history of sexism and favoritism towards family members(daughter and sister).

Just recently, my boyfriend quit his position due to finally reaching his breaking point with management.

This manager, who has been with the business for 18 years has a multitude of reasons why you Shoudnt work here.

A coworker, overheard management telling her daughter that she refuses to accept male applicants, he has seen her throw away applications if they’re male.

She has lost her temper on said coworker for requesting time off for a funeral she knew about. She shut the deli down because she “needed time off” because of this.

She constantly allows women and family members to leave early, while forcing my boyfriend to work open to close every single day. He was given maybe one or two okays to leave early.

Management treats men like literal work horses. Makes them do all of the brunt work, there wasn’t a time that my boyfriend didnt Get forced to do a days worth of dishes with more piled on top because noone else would do them.

Management also snapped at other employees for being on their phone, but allows their daughter to sit on food prep counters and at booths, on her phone, while customers are there.

Management has been a problem for a while there. But owners won’t do anything becaue theyve been working there for so long. We’re left, completely confused on what we can possibly do.

I put this out there because i dont know where else to spread the word. I’ve written a report to BBB. But other than that I’ll left not knowing how to help.

I was fired for reporting sexual harassment TWICE!

I witnessed the sexual harassment of two females while working a tech contract for a big banking corporation. The perpetrator was a another coworker who would make comments like “mmm id like to taste that” while one of the female workers would leave a section and press himself against the two when there was ample space to not touch anyone. He also would take the younger one on special assignments that would give him time alone with her in the freight elevator where she says he was looking down her shirt. I also caught him string down her shirt a few times and it creeped me out because he’s about 60 and it epitomized dirty old man vibes. I reported what I saw to the jobsite supervisor and nothing, then I wrote to my contract organizer and received an email they would investigate what happened. A few days later the girl was fired then a few days after That the pervert guy told me that I was being released from the contract and not needed. It was odd because the contract had just began and I knew it was because I reported him. I started a new contract and the same pervert old guy was still there doing the same stuff. I kindly reported the prior incidents and the current one to the actual bank. He was escorted from the property but the same day I was asked to leave during a new investigation by my contractor , which is the equivalent of being fired. Aren’t there whistleblower laws?! #termination #management #jobsearch #advice #stressful

I wish my job @ #Subway had...

I wish the management at subway wasn't so toxic such as picking favorite employees and messing with other ones for no reason. The favorites apparently do nothing wrong but when a problem pops up it isn't there fault. Also you have no opinion or beliefs at subway you will be fired. #wordsofadvice #management #termination

Management Styles

What type of management style do you like?

Autocratic – An autocratic manager makes all the decision and sets goals without any input from workers. The managers make choices based on their ideas and judgments and rarely accepts advice from others.

Pros: ✨Allows for quick decision especially in stress-filled situations ✨Offers a clear chain of command ✨Works well where strong, directive leadership is needed

Cons: 💣Discourages group input and hurts morale which can lead to resentment 💣Ignores or impairs creative solutions and expertise from subordinates

Democratic – A democratic manager actively participate in discussions, but also makes sure to listen to the views of others. Democratic managers encourages open conversation and helps their employees set goals, evaluate their own performance and motivates them to grow.

Pros: ✨When employees feel included in the decision-making process, they often feel more valued by their employer. ✨When the decision-making process requires collaboration and multiple opinions, the discussion covers more possible solutions.

Cons: 💣Some employees are less able to perform under democratic leadership because they don't like making decisions. 💣It might be more challenging to make fast decisions when it requires the input of everybody. The time needed to organize meetings and discussions hurt business when it is necessary to make quick decisions or meet deadlines.

Working in an office, I saw both types of management styles. I do like the Democratic style, but there were times when I saw it made our work days longer because everyone had to decide the best way to move forward. It would have been more efficient if the boss just told us how to move forward. #management #jobsearch #interview
