Please let me work...I can do practically anything

I am a single mother and had brain surgery and couple years ago. Until recently, I was unable to work and my memory is spotty to say the least. I just began earning a little money online from freelancing and I need help. I am willing to work extremely hard and am tired of being told I'm a liability. I have taught myself to create websites, I have been in Virtual Assistant/Clerical environments and put my all into everything I do. I love helping people and here's what I need your help with please. My grandparents helped my son and I so much financially after the brain surgery. My 93 year old grandpa is gonna have to get heart surgery on February 24th, 2016 and I have been unable to become successful or even get my son and I a place to live and I promised myself I would do everything I can to show him and my grandma that their help means the world to me. I need them to know things with my son and I will be OK and that I can take care of it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or jobs that need someone's immediate help? Anything that pays will do, I can do almost anything and I will be grateful for any work.

I'm sorry, but I have only a week and I know people have their own problems t deal with and they probably don't think someone who had brain surgery and is considered a liability to most would be of any use. But I am desperate and will never forgive myself if I can't put his mind at ease knowing we'll be alright before his surgery.

I will make everyone who is nice enough to help proud to have done so. Please forward to anyone who might let me work immediately. I work online so I can virtually assist anyone in the world. If this goes nowhere I still can't give up. I will make my success out of nothing but determination, hard work and always continuing forward.

Thank you in advance to anyone that has taken the time to read my cries for help. Please feel free to respond with any info. Thank you.

Ohhh, my heart... Sk, we're all keeping our fingers crossed for your grandfather's surgery! I found this online - might be interesting. It won't pay like a full-time gig, but it's something you could definitely put on a resume once you do a few, and might help tide you over for a bit: https://www.usertesting.com/be-a-user-tester Do you have the contact info of anyone you used to VA for? It would be worth reaching out to them (1) to see if they need assistance again, (2) to get some good references for the past work you've done, AND (3) see if they can offer any referrals for people they know who may who need someone today.

Hello! If you've taught yourself how to create websites it would be a great idea to advertise that around your local colleges where they might have art/music/photography departments. People who are trying to get into the arts frequently need help creating a website! Churches and non-profit programs also usually need someone to help with this sort of thing.

There's also a South Valley WorkSource Center about a 16 minute drive from your zip code (listen on your profile), you can call them at 661.265.7421 to see if there is any sort of career counseling or career resource help you could get from them.

I hope this is helpful!

A Jackie-of-All-Trades, Telecommuter with a foundation in Administrative Assitance

Hi Folks,

I am on that train that we all dread to be on, and it's not my first stop either. I've been job hunting for a good year now looking for virtual assistant work/telecommuting. My last few years have been in the logistics/trucking industry as Fleet Manager and saw a very good income from doing that, however I cut myself off from doing it at the same capacity that I as due to the sporadic nature of the independent contractor driver; in other words these guys are all usually good people but are always looking for a pot of gold and when they don't find it they tend to blame their dispatcher. On another note, I have years of providing clerical assistance in NYC. Legal, Medical, Non-Profit, Fashion, Education. I've worked in all of these industries. I even have experience working with insurance due to always quoting my husband's truck when his policy is up. I know what goes into it. Bilingual Spanish speaker, small business owner. I feel very capable of anything. So why isn't anyone hiring me?

Hi Grace: So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your job search - especially since you've got so many awesome skills and experience! Have you checked out sites like Upwork.com and Guru.com? They're freelance sites that post different admin/telecommuting projects, which means you can work from home while working on as much as you want. Hope this helps you!

Hi Eunice, your post mentions you're interest in remote (work from home) job options within the Administrative Assistant and Marketing/Social Media/Digital areas. I've added some job leads for your review below but for better results I would suggest that you take a few moments to add/update your resume and location information onto your Jobcase profile. Doing this will enable other members and employers to connect you with job options that best fit your career goals and immediate job interests.

Take a look at the leads leads below and reach back out to me if you have any questions. Thanks

If you are interested in working from home Arise has a great program where you can start your own LLC or choose to work under another small business providing customer service for major companies. Check out their website for the details www.arise.com Let me know what you think after you review it.

My advice to people interested in working at #Hardees as a #VirtualAssistant ...

If you are a people person and you like to serve customers a good quality fast food meal Hardee's is the place.

Hi Janice, Welcome to Jobcase! The first thing you will want to do is take a few minutes to completely fill out your profile. Make sure to include your current location, previous jobs with description, and education. This will help other Jobcasers to send you jobs they run across that might be good for you.

After you have done this, you can use these steps to start your job search: 1.Click on “Jobs & Companies” at the top of the page 2.Enter a job into the search field that says “Position” 3.Click on the blue button to search for that position in your area 4.Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in to apply. Let me know if you need anymore help!

Is it really this hard?

I strive to gain a work from home job. I use to write contributor pieces for a blog but when they got shut down I was out of a job and being it only paid little I had to go back to retail. So now that I’m out of retail I am determined to get an at home job as a writer or virtual social media assistant #Goals #Writer #VirtualAssistant #Determination

I recommend FlexJobs and ProBlogger. As a freelance marketing consultant I've found good quality work through them: https://www.flexjobs.com
