I have mobility issues and portable oxygen when no at home. For those reasons I'm limited to remote jobs. How can I filter so only remote jobs are presented as options? # #workfromhome #remote

When searching for remote jobs, utilize job search engines like Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Jobcase. In the search bar, include keywords like "remote," "work from home," or "virtual" to filter out only remote job opportunities. Additionally, you can select the "Remote" or "Telecommute" option provided by these platforms to narrow down your search results to remote positions only. Make sure to customize your profile to highlight your qualifications and mention your preference for remote work to attract relevant opportunities. Good luck with your job search! #workfromhome #remote

To say the remote job market is competitive would be an understatement! Every source I've heard from, ranging from news outlets, government statistics, and fellow job searchers agree that the once-hot remote job market has frozen. The gold rush is over, folks. I myself have been looking for remote, in-person, and hybrid positions for some time now, and I can vouch for this first-hand.

The only hope seems to be meeting every requirement in the job description, including every "desirable" or "nice to have" quality listed. These have become prerequisites, barriers to entry, do-or-die requirements.

Here are a few other keys to locking down that job (in my humble opinion, based on what I’ve variously heard):

  1. Apply to at least 5 companies a day. Lots of agreement on this one, and quite frankly, more is a lot better in this market. However, don't forget to take time to stay mentally and physically healthy!

  2. Use terminology from the job description in your resume to optimize for AI review, and/or review by recruiters who may be seeing hundreds of applications.

  3. Always submit a lean, but substantive cover letter, if you can. Not too long, not too short, with specifics. Avoid platitudes and vague office-speak.

  4. Apply using 3rd party profiles (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) AND directly β€œfrom resume/email,” unless directed not to. This will ensure that your resume gets seen by more systems which may have different filters, be they human or machine.

  5. Highlight, and sometimes mention the specifics of your home office setup. Internet up/download speed, computer specs, software, etc. (Just try to make it sound casual.)

  6. Diversify your job search engines to an extent, but be mindful that many of the big job boards are scraping leads from the same sources!

If any fellow Jobcasers can chime in with more tips, or notes, please do!

If Deloitte doesn't have an open position for you right now, consider checking Jobcase, Indeed, and other job search providers for part-time remote opportunities that align with your skills and experience. You can also network with professionals in your industry and set up informational interviews to explore other potential job openings. Keep your resume updated and continue to monitor new job postings to increase your chances of finding the right opportunity.

My friends, it's obvious there are seven days in a week, right? How many days are under your control?

The point is, too often we have no control over the elements in our life. Sadly, we fall-short from receiving greater things down the road.

TURNKEY:

"Whatever you vividly imagine, wholeheartedly desire, sincerely believe and diligently act upon with an intentional mindset, greater things will waltz into your life at ease." ~Edward Alexander

Take control over your life each day, and watch for best results.

I Believe You Can...!
