Under the direct supervision of the Communications and Development Director, you will provide daily technical assistance on all technology, answer questions or resolve computer and technology related problems in person, via telephone, or electronically, assist in the development & implementation of plans for systems disaster recovery, deployment of applications and provide routine maintenance of equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions, including but not limited to:
Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
Troubleshoot and perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as fare boxes, cameras, destination signs, Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), two-way radios, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) devices, security camera devices, electronic display signs, busboards and more.
Observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
Inspect equipment both proactively and reactively to maintain quality, uninterrupted service.
Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Works with technical support providers including but not limited to the phone system, mobile data terminals, network support vendor, etc.
Assist in evaluation of systems and procedures to stay abreast of any potential change requirements or technology advancements that support agency growth.
Track and maintain inventory of equipment, software license agreements, etc. to maintain adequate inventories and licensing to support agency needs.
Assist in business continuance/ disaster recovery.
Normal working hours are weekdays Monday - Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends to meet organizational needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Minimum Qualifications:
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Associate degree preferred.
•1-2 years related work experience as a Technology, IT Technician, or network administration
•Must be skilled in the use of technology, including proficiency in network administration, software and hardware evaluation/implementation. Experience with a variety of related software and the ability to master new technologies.
Hands-on Technical Experience and expertise in:
-Desktop operating system installation and troubleshooting (Microsoft Windows)

We are seeking a NetSuite Administrator to be based at corporate headquarters in West Chicago, IL.
This person will be the primary resource supporting the NetSuite ERP, WMS and Advanced Manufacturing systems. This will include design, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, documentation, training and testing.

I have been watching the forums and you guys have been giving great advice I have been getting emails from companies but they always seem to be some underlying motive or sales tactic I will be starting to look for a job after graduation May 7 hopefully I can get some insight from you guys. BAS Computer Information Technology.
I came to America from Africa. Went to school, finished my MBA but do not have any working experience in America. So I get interviewed by a big company in fort wayne. I believed the interview went great but at the end I started feeling terrible. I was asked whether i love working in a team or not. My answer was yes I love working in a team and i even gave examples related to my past work experience. But after answering that, the interviewer said, they need someone who is independent. Then they asked me where i see myself in 5 years time. This is what i said " in 2 to 3 years, I see myself becoming a true expert and master at this position in your company. I plan to really immerse myself in this position, understand the areas that need to be improved, discover the ins and out of the business then also look for opportunities to make my team and department as efficient as possible. Then in 5 years time, I see myself extending my expertise in different departments through applying my skills and knowledge obtained from my role". The interviewer replied, no way you would wish to extend your expertise, u just need to stay in that position or maybe go for a receptionist job. Wowwwwww I felt terrible, coz the position I was being interviewed for was in credit, but trying to lower me down made me feel terrible. I asked them what major skills are they looking at, for someone to take the position, the interviewer told me all they need is someone with great computer skills. I told them my first degree is in Information Technology and am also well vast with most excel functions. Wow the interviewer just looked at me, then i asked if there a chance of me getting the job, wow the interviewer reminded me how I dont experience in America and that i need to much training. Really felt horrible. I am wondering how i can get experience in America if companies feel they dont want to hire you. The interviewer never seemed like a true person coz he seemed against everything I was saying.
To make the story short, I will be brief on the introduction: I was working as a Facility Coordinator, and I loved it. I got this Facility through a year long transition. The day I confirmed it was complete, my boss flew up to my location and relieved me of my assignment. I've recieved nothing but the highest of praises. I did accidentally break the email chain a few times, but who doesn't? Particularly when policy changes every week.. Any way, now I'm on the job hunt. I landed one already, but I had to turn it down after they offered me half of the listing salary. I now have an interview on Saturday for a good position in a drink manufacturing facility. Also, I received an offer through email for a high position at a Crypto Currency firm. I'm ecstatic and very hopeful that one, if not both of these opportunities are obtainable. I'm excellent at interviews, and I always pull my weight. I've been going through this losing my job at "no fault of my own" maze for a decade now. I'm over it, and ready to get established.
