Does the book match the cover?

A member just landed a new job two months ago messaged me over the weekend. She got the job as a marketing specialist and the job description was 100% her dream job scenario. However there was some significant turnover at her company and her job description started to expand so much to other areas that she didn’t anticipate.

I have no doubt that she will persist through this work challenge. But I also wonder how many of us have experienced similar situations where the bubbles burst when you land a new job… does the actual job you landed always match the impression you got during the interviews?

  • Yes most of the time it went as what I expected
  • No it NEVER ended up the same as what I learned from the interviews

What is your work experience like so far?

Actually I downloaded the Ziprecruiter app and applied for an order filler job in Seneca, SC on Sunday evening. Went to the temp service that had listed the job on morning and got the job. Start next Monday 3/14/22. So thanks for your help with job search.

Knowledge is Power, the more u know the more u grow!!!

Some would probly say a change of career, but I call it equipping the kaboose.I.start today at UPS I'm a lil nervous and excited at the same time.No no I have not given up on cooking which is my passion and what I love to do,I'm only using every resource provided to me to strengthen my foundation or as I say adding more equipment to my kaboose/learning new things in order to offer more to employers. My aultimate goal is to become a driver, but for now I'm in the warehouse and I'ma finally get to experience working in a warehouse and one of the best warehouses in the world,UPS.I would appreciate any feedback or knowledge that anyone can offer about there experience in working in warehouses and what I can do to possibly make my intrence a smooth process?
