A Day in The Shoes of a Delegate!

My day starts at 6:00 AM reviewing the complaints needed to be addressed, Grievances to resolve, Lift Spirits!

The day starts with arriving and saying good morning. First case the manager writes a person up for being excessively late for work? I check in with the employee to listen to them. I was late because I couldn’t find a babysitter, my children miss me? I stopped at the store and they was a line. One after the other you hear how stressed out workers are when working. You talk to the supervisor and hear she has an attitude, he was late 3 times in a month? I ask did you ask why? No ! I didn’t feel the need to ask? It’s their responsibility to be on time. Now I have to read each person to find a happy medium of it. Another one this Hosiptal just became a Delegate and since she was elected she walks the hall with a pad and pen writing notes about everyone. My team is upset because of it! What do I do ? First I calm everyone down and ask how is your day going? Next what can we do to make it better? I speak to the newly elected delegate she tells me this is what I was told to do. Wrong, as a delegate our position is not to let it interfere with our job. Check in on your personal time and make sure things are running smooth is your position as a delegate. Sometimes people get a position and it can change them good or bad? This consumer wants me to do personal favors for them. Another places cameras throughout the house and tells a PCA to apply cream to his arms. She does it and the next thing you know she is fired! Now she has no job a bad reference and has to pay the rent. What do you do? Find a happy medium and hope it works out. In the meantime my bills are due and they only gave me 20 hours this week. When they need me I always do my best to help? This pandemic has really taken a toll on workers, families and everyone in one way or another. I can tell you from experience it is not ending soon. People are dealing with stress, depression and more. I try to find the good in everything I deal with on a daily basis. We can only deal with the things we are in control of and realize we are powerless over the things we have no control over. Do your best to put a smile on and thank my higher power for another day. #workfromhome #coronavirus #interview #deliverydriver #ridesharedriver #jobsearch #healthcare #foodservices #application

I already receive 2 letters telling me that I am good for the benefits plus $600.00 bit when I am going to certified my benefits, the system shows me that I need to contact to the agent, I have this issue since June first. Please call the next day due to the high volume of calls. And then, again and again, the same problem. I am tired of the services. #coronavirus

Half million job openings and opportunities for older workers!

Some analysts expect to see greater demand for advanced manufacturing talent in the U.S. that could create opportunities for older men and women, including white-collar professionals struggling to find jobs.

Entry-level manufacturing jobs in industries such as aerospace, technology and defense include CNC operators, set-up technicians and programmers, as well as inspectors, higher-end assembly technicians and quality assurance.

"The pay typically ranges between $35,000 and $65,000, including overtime and benefits." Richard DuPont, Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at Housatonic Community College

2nd Stimulus goes into extra-time!

The Senate is scheduled to leave for August recess at the end of this week, but there's zero sense something will come together before then, read more

What will you do if a 2nd Stimulus doesn't get approved this week, (take on a seasonal or part-time job, look for more affordable housing, dip further into savings, look for emergency resources, no plan yet, other)?
