Around this time of year, many managers present their employees with formal annual reviews.
For many, these meetings can make employees nervous, but, when done properly and professionally, these reviews should be non-events.
Good managers will communicate with their employees THROUGHOUT the year; giving constructive feedback so employees can grow and progress in the organization and in their own careers.
Therefore, when the annual review comes around, it should simply be a documentation of the main points discussed during the last year. That’s it.
Not-so-great managers won’t actively manage their employees and will potentially use the annual review to sabotage and/or hold employees back from a promotion or a raise by first giving negative feedback during this time.
Use your annual review to gauge how you feel about your current company.
If you find yourself surprised (in a bad way) during your annual review, take it as a clear sign that your current company may no longer deserve your efforts in 2021.
Alternatively, an easy, fair review with no surprises is a good indicator of a strong manager and a positive work environment.

If you have a manager (or another colleague) who is bullying you repeatedly or who acts very unprofessionally to you over and over again, you HAVE to take steps to bring it to an end.
No one deserves to have this type of stress in their life. I’ve seen (and experienced) how this behavior can negatively impact people’s health.
The first thing you have to do is clearly document the behavior.
Second, practice what you are going to say to whomever is bullying or mistreating you at work in a calm but firm tone.
And third, sit down in a private 1:1 meeting, lay out the issue(s), and TELL them their mistreatment of you stops right now.
Often, this is all that will be necessary because bullies, underneath all the false bravado, are just cowards who likely know what they are doing is wrong, but just keep doing it because they feel they can get away with it with you.
This is not your fault, but you must take steps to stop it.
If that doesn’t work, you escalate accordingly. Either through HR or, if that’s not enough, an appropriate employment lawyer.
Bottom line: No one deserves to be bullied or mistreated in the workplace and the only one who can REALLY make sure it comes to an end is you.

What's been your worst experience in costumer service?

Okay so I don't do this very often and I hate telling potential employers this, but I have a learning disability and because of this certain things take a little longer for me to understand or catch on to....
I also have a hard time hearing them when there's a lot of loud noises/equipment near me or them, or sometimes I hear about half of what they say and the other half my brain tries to fill in the blank spots with random words... Ex. Manager: "Can you check in the freezer for this specific item?" My brain: "can you chicken finger item?"
I know it makes no sense, which is why I have to move closer to them so I can understand what they actually said.
I've had my hearing checked and it's always been perfectly fine, but I was diagnosed with auditory processing disorder. I try to overcompensate for it but sometimes it doesn't always work in my favor.
I just lost my new job because of this disability prevented me from learning everything they wanted me to learn in the few days they had me working...
So I guess what I'd like to ask is, how do I go about telling potential employers about it and keep myself qualified enough for the job?

I am only nineteen and have not had many jobs yet, but I saw an article that said there is scientific evidence that people are happier and more efficient in their work in a happier environment...even the color of the walls matters. My previous conception of working was that you clock in at 9 and out at 5 and environment doesn’t matter, but I’m slowly realizing the importance of a happy workplace. We spend so many hours of our lives in these offices, shouldn’t we enjoy it? I was wondering if you (other jobcasers) are happy at your job, and if so, why? What makes it so enjoyable or unenjoyable? Is it the personality of coworkers or the appearance of the building?

The most awesome thing I have always done for my boss is making sure I don't disappoint him and always I ensure to meet my targets before time and always being there for the team (team player).

How do you dress when you go to your workplace? Do you get hot or cold? Do you shiver! Many types of outerwear are available.

When you look at how the job base is changing it's not just the technology that changes it. The dynamics start from the place of government. Creating laws that effect how you work and if what you enjoy will be there if not replaced by an android.People need interaction and things to invent otherwise that creates a bad environment.from Transportation to communication to aviation to warehousing to office work and accounting, there creating the technology to replace 80% of the work force. Technology can be great but it's taking the thought process away from everyday activity. What will persons do if there are machines available to do you everything? Will we just exist as persons. I think it's a control the government wants to do to its citizens meaning the persons in Washington DC now. It's almost like they have a hatred for the American public. The government wants to control ever aspect of our lives then replace your work and have you dependent on big brother with A cashless system created to take what you have t will. Very sad today how we live .

Do you bring problems to your boss? Solutions? or problems with suggested solutions?
Usually problem brew up to the person you report to. If everything is going fine, and if you know your authority well, then no need to bug anyone else - right? But when things go wrong, usually you need to check in with a Boss to either let them know, or to double-check your authority in addressing the problem.
Here's my 2 cents of advice - try to bring solutions when you surface an issue or problem. Even if its a suggestion. You will be seen in a constructive light, grease the wheels on promotions and goodies (titles, $$, benefits, etc.) and prob have more productive relationship. This isn't always possible, but whenever it is, pause and put a solution to the situation!
