My first year experience as a self-employed owner of Professional Consultants & Associates - over 20 years ago.

It was so exciting to create my own billable invoices and earn just under $200.00 an hour!! For the first time in my life I had employees and literally had to pay more money in taxes than I ever earned as an "employee"!!

I highly recommend doing this to anyone who can simply write a resume, create a business card and make cold calls to sell your own services!!

Just do it! It's so rewarding and soon you'll have staff and billable hours as well!

And, the extra benefit is getting tons of offers for hire too!

Have you ever been passed over for an opportunity? How do I handle a situation where I feel like I should have gotten the promotion, but didn't? I worked so hard and believe I deserved it. Does that mean I should leave? #advice #management #interview #jobsearch #application

Employee Appreciation

I really enjoyed working in Retail. As a Store Manager I realize the importance of showing appreciation for my employees. Retail can be enjoyable to work in, although because of the fast pace environment and dealing with variety of customers concerns the list goes on.

Showing employees that you appreciate them can improve engagement, morale and productivity. Showing employees that they are value is important.

Here a few things that I have done to show my employees that I appreciate them.

Everyone love good food and snacks๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฉโ˜•๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ• On some weekends myself and my Co Manager, we will provide snacks, pizza for lunch. I recognize employees work Anniversaries by giving them a shout out and a gift card provided by the company.

What have you done for your employees, any other suggestions?

First, you must define what type of maintenance field you plan to work in, because depending on it will be the skills and experience you will need, since it could be maintenance of machinery and equipment, transport fleets and building maintenance, etc.

Additionally, you must have notions of business administration, personnel management, knowledge of labor regulations and, above all, safety at work.

How Important is Hierarchy in the Workplace?

Hierarchy creates authority and unity An employee's level of authority is greater the higher they are in the hierarchical structure. Wherever leadership is required, authority is also needed. Authority ensures that everyone under a manager's command will work towards the organisation's goals โ€” or face discipline.

Most organizations have a similar hierarchy structureโ€ฆthe pyramid-like organisation of a small leadership team at the top, many employees at the base, and others at various levels in the middle, still prevails.

How is your workplace/job structured? Is there a different layout for leadership? Is hierarchy important in the workplace? #Leadership #Management #Hierarchy #Team
