Have you ever been bribed to do something for a guest/customer?

This actually happens alllll the time in the hotel industry! Matter a fact, this happened to me today. A guest was checking in to our hotel and she was apart of our loyalty program ranking at the top as a Titanium member! Her family chose to stay with us to celebrate 🎉 her daughter’s wedding 💒 She booked a standard room with 2 Queen Beds, but wanted to be upgraded to a two bedroom sweet free of charge. Now, I do understand that her visit to our hotel was for a special occasion but we do not have the availability to accommodate her request. I communicated that to her and she was very unhappy so she tried to bribe me with $100💵….there was nothing I could do because her reservation was for 6 nights and we just didn’t have the room availability. I apologized and comped her parking fees for her, she did end up keeping her money!

Has this ever happened to you?! Do you bend the rules for customers/guest? #Bribes #Customers #Guest #Hotels #Tips

Quick reminder to be kind when shopping and running around this week. Especially on the shopping day people call 'black friday'. (btw, am I the only one who dislikes that name?).

We all have an opportunity to spread joy and love - not only to our loved ones over Thanksgiving dinner, but also to all the great workers serving us in stores, restaurants, and deliveries. Let's remember to prioritize empathy and kindness to our fellow workers we encounter.

Worker empowerment starts with supporting one another. We know that many places are understaffed and overworked. So when things go wrong out there, lets pause to remember its not that frontline hero's fault. And they prob had to deal with customers that do NOT remember that - so what a chance to help make their day better.

Check out this page for some quick info of a survey we did - over 60% are worried about safety on black Friday. Lets step up and support one another. And lets spread some good Holiday joy!

Honesty. I was told they were a "Christian" store. I was told that we would all be rotated for working on Sundays. Oh, I got a Sunday off, on Easter when the store was closed. I didn't "feel" like I was used, I "know" that I was taken advantage of. I've been gone for 6 weeks. Now when I see people in their Sunday best, it's not my customers I see, it's my fellow church-goers. More honesty less hypocrisy Drug Emporium. #Drugemporium #customers #managers #coworkers #honesty #advice #sundaysoff

I met a lot of great people. I stayed busy. Nobody liked to stock the coolers so I did them because I worked the overnight shift. #foodservices #customers

I loved the way I was allowed to assist customers with plenty of services including opening doors for guests which is rarely seen in most restaurants nowadays. #foodservices #customers

I work at a call center for a major credit card company. We’re offering financial relief solutions for individuals that were affected by Coronavirus

I had a convo with a woman yesterday who was demanding that ALL of her credit card debt get forgiven because she had been laid off from her job. Long story short, she was screaming at me saying “I don’t care that she has kids and is going to be living under a bridge if she has to keep paying her debt.”

I wish we had guidelines in place for representatives if there’s a customer being a jerk! Maybe a way to flag them in the system...
