Honesty. I was told they were a "Christian" store. I was told that we would all be rotated for working on Sundays. Oh, I got a Sunday off, on Easter when the store was closed. I didn't "feel" like I was used, I "know" that I was taken advantage of. I've been gone for 6 weeks. Now when I see people in their Sunday best, it's not my customers I see, it's my fellow church-goers. More honesty less hypocrisy Drug Emporium. #Drugemporium #customers #managers #coworkers #honesty #advice #sundaysoff

I got the job I was wanting. It's not much, just a delivery driver for a restaurant, but, it's a foot in the door. I have been a General Manager for this company previously so I am hoping I can get either a corporate training position or back up to General Manager. The way my manager was talking it's going to happen really fast. They are already impressed by my work ethic and knowledge of product policies and procedures. For those who have no previous experience it's mainly common sense and integrity. Would you act that way if your boss was watching? If not then don't do it when they aren't watching. Would you like to be treated like that when you go out? If not then don't treat your customers like that. People either have common sense and integrity or they don't. Everything else can be taught. How to operate the computer system, policies, and procedures are all things you learn as you gain experience on the job. For those of you still struggling remember there is always a better tomorrow. Keep your head up and present yourself to your potential employers with a positive attitude. Employers have several applicants they have to filter through so give them a reason to choose you over everyone else. Keep going and follow your dreams. Never compromise who you are or your values. Never lower your standards. You will end up hating your job. I ended up going out of my way to find this job. There are 2 restaurants I could have applied for locally for the same company but I worked for the franchise that owns them and was unhappy with how they treated their upper management so I go 45 min out of my way for what I hope is a better and more fruitful experience. This is your life and don't let anyone tell you that you can't have your dream job. You may have to work for it and show them you deserve it but it's there and you can reach it. Thank you for allowing me to ramble but I have get ready for my 1st job (independent contractor).
