Can someone with felonies serve vulnerable adults?

While applying for a better paying job to make ends meet, a past prospect Options for Employment contacted me and offered $4.00 more an hour. I quit my job and showed up for work on 4/11/23 to find the office totally cleared out and locked. My calls are blocked, so I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone or the owner, ever since. I found out the person who helped hire me has a past rap sheet in several counties. I am uneasy with this as I gave my personal information to them. Also this is an LLC serving vulnerable adults; and with background checks.? Just wondering about how this works. I missed over a week's pay because of this, also. The whole situation seems quite seedy. How do I avoid this?

How I removed felonies & misdemeanor from my criminal record

The narrator had a bad criminal record and desired to clear their name of all crimes and misdemeanors. However, contrary to what they had read online, the clerk's office at the criminal building downtown told the narrator that just two things could be purged.

His perspective is extremely beneficial to anyone who is in a similar circumstance.

Please, share your experience with in comment.

Best Current Resources For Jobs For Those With Felony Records

Timeka Green has a YouTube channel called "Heyyy HR!" where she focuses on helping those jobseekers with felony records find employment and resource information. She provides viable links to those resources and does a great job of vetting her information. This is her latest video from April 2023 which includes great resource information.

Watch her video and be sure to scroll down for more information about the jobs and resources she presents. Some of these have already been presented through Jobcase and are posted here in the Fair Chance to Succeed group or can be found in the Resource Center under "Second Chances Resource Center".

I've provided links below. If you find really great information there, please come back and share what you discovered with our other members. We're in this together!"

Current Ban The Box Information

We've posted in this group many times regarding that awful intimidating Box on an application that asks "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?". For some, just the thought of checking that box is enough to cause anxiety.

I'm providing a link to a 2023 edition of an interactive state map that job seekers with criminal background issues can use to check if their state or city has adopted this law and signed the Fair Chance Pledge. This law prohibits a prospective employer from asking this question during the initial application process. Once a job offer is extended however, they can and often do ask.

Be prepared to answer honestly and provide a confident well worded explanation. There are other posts here in the Fair Chance group that can offer guidance and "how to" examples.

Use this map to see if you live in a felon friendly state or city. Be sure to scroll down past the map to see specific information. For example, Florida is NOT a Ban the Box state but Gainesville has specific information about their participation.

@Mia Y Welcome to Jobcase.

Please follow the customer service group link provided by Jerilyn.

There are many great customer service positions that allow you to work remotely and offer decent pay, usually $20-25 an hour.

You can do a search for (remote customer service jobs) here: https://www.jobcase.com/jobs/results

I would advise completing your profile if you haven't done so already to get the most out of this website. Make sure to include your background and career interests! This enables Jobcase to notify you when a position matching your profile becomes available.

Let me know if you have any additional questions, I'm here to help.

How many of us had civilian jobs in addition to our daily military duties while serving?

I delivered Dominoes Pizza, which was located right outside the main gate at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, five nights a week, unless my unit was in the field...
