The job gave me the opportunity to exhibit my gifts of Man management, creative writing and paying attention to details. It also allowed me to utilize my skills in office clerical duties, word processing and proofreading. #wordsofadvice #interview #jobsearch

It is no secret making more money depends on higher checks lining up together in the restaurant industry. Alcohol beverage sales increase the bill, and servers can make more tips.

At the same time, selling alcoholic beverages requires some knowledge of wine, beer, and hard liquors for recommendation and selling them.

Wine is the hardest to learn because it takes time, and one tries different wines as much as a person can. Realistically, learning wine takes time. Hard liquor beverages are easier to learn if compared with wine knowledge.

On the other hand, if you work in BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverages) restaurants, servers don’t have to know about alcoholic beverages. Simply, you are not selling it. Patrons bring their alcoholic drinks, and the server serves them.

Some of the BYOB restaurants charge a cork fee of around 10 to 25 dollars. Unfortunately, tips would be lower compared with alcohol sales.

I used to work in a BYOB restaurant, and we turned the tables many times and still made good money without selling alcoholic beverages.

Let me know your preferences as a present / former restaurant worker.

Does anyone have any sample letters of reference to share? Most job coaches and recruiters tell you to write what you want the person to say (most references like this too!). I just need a few nice examples. #referenceletters #jobsearch #advice #interview #wordsofadvice #application

I used to work in a restaurant where I took more than ten tables and extended my section. It was very stressful, but I made great money.

Nowadays, I work in a restaurant where I take seven tables in my shifts, but no stress, no running around, and making average money.

Which one is more important for you? Making good tips; being stressed or making average money and not being stressed?

I worked at #texas steel conversion, and being that it's a highly dangerous industry, you would think that safety is the priority. NOT!!! I flat out left after 6 months due to the unsafe conditions there. To top it off, they retracted my bonus and are holding my pay. I highly recommend that no one seek employment there. Supervisors are incompetent and are one of the main reasons that the unsafe conditions exist. #jobsearch #wordsofadvice
