Have you ever said “no” to a promotion? What made you decide that?

I HAVE WHEN I FELT IT WOULD BE BAD FOR ME OR THE COMPANY. I NEVER LIKE TO COMPROMISE MYSELF TOO MUCH.

Yes, almost right after getting promoted to assistant manager my general area manager and the one that followed right after her were pressuring me to take the store manager position after having went through 4 managers since i started. I told them both no and even their regional manager the same thing and told them if they didn't back off I would turn in my 2 week notice because they'll expect me to work unlimited overtime because I'd be salary then and my family and marriage are more important to me than that job.

Too much responsibility and less money

No, I happy to adjust to more responsibility.

No

Because the promotion that was offered was a lie for you to work there but to only be given odd hour and only on call if there was any openings to work

It was a promotion in title only. It was 45 minutes away and no increase in salary with a supervisor who was known for making people work extra hours with no O.T. & then get rid of them.
The promotion and new responsibilities would require an additional time commitment which I could not logically fulfill to do the job properly. Accepting the offer would have been unfair to the company, the eventual promotee, my family and myself.
