McDonald's to hire nearly 400 new employees by the end of 2020!
McDonald's restaurants across Northeast Ohio expect to hire nearly 400 employees before the end of 2020.
The fast-food empire announced the hiring news in a press release on Thursday morning, stating that they will be hiring for both full-time and part-time positions.
Along with competitive pay, the company offers career-advancing opportunities, including college tuition assistance.
Eligible employees can apply for up to $2,500 in assistance each academic year after 90 days working for the company.

Orange County offering $1000 grants to restaurants in need
The Orange County Board of Supervisors announced that it is providing $1,000 grants to up to 1,000 local restaurants!
The purpose of this grant is to assist restaurants in setting up outdoor dining spaces - including purchasing outdoor heaters, canopies, tents, and lighting.

Starbucks is giving out raises - but is it enough?
Starbucks announced they are giving their workers raises. Here are the details:
- A pay increase of at least 10% for all baristas + supervisors
- At least an 11% pay bump for workers with three years of continued service
- At least a 5% pay increase to all starting rates
- An increase to the premium that Starbucks pays above minimum wage in every market
But even with theses increases, some employees want more — and, with minimum wage hikes emerging, many industry giants may be forced to keep up.

Starbucks is a stepping stone job...If you increase the salary to high, they will just pass it on to the customers and reduce unemployment. Put the tip jar out and they will make more than the increased pay.

I worked there between 2007-2008, and I can’t believe that they STILL haven’t given customers the option to tip with cards or other electronic payments. Supplementing a pay increase with more versatile tipping would make a huge impact.
