Pay attention to your surroundings and multi task stay one step ahead of your costumers and keep smiling. You will do fine. It's a pretty fast pace

Be ready to deal with people of all kinds. Rude and nice. Just because somebody has a bad attitude does’nt mean it’s directed towards you. Make sure u re-count money when ur giving customers change back

The biggest mistake I made was leaving and going to work for Family Dollar as an ASM because I made better money at McDonalds and I got better hours. Biggest regret of my life. Even though I did end up with management experience. Wish every day I could go back to McDonalds.

Being a cashier takes patience and focus. You are the initial means of money handling at any establishment you may work for. Be careful counting, receiving and disbursing any money or coins. Every penny counts. Know the CORRECT system for processing credit cards and debit card and gift cards. be knowledgeable about refunding policies. NEVER handle more money than the store allows or an amount you feel uncomfortable with. Always make sure your money is counted before you receive it at the start of your shift and double checked at the end for any errors. Never let another employee handle your money/till without express consent from management. Remember, you are the one handling the store's money. be a responsible person, friendly and polite. That's a cashier

Great question Leslis! When I applied for my first job as a cashier, I had no work experience yet, so on the application for the part where it asked for any qualities you have, I put that I work well with others, I'm a hard worker, and that I am a fast learner and adapt well to new environments. And then, not long after I submitted my application I got a call for an interview and began working rite away after that. Hopefully this helps! Good luck!

First of all, what is your motive? Why are you interested in a cashier position? Is it because you need a job, money, do something or you really want to serve all kinds of people? Maybe ask yourself am I here to serve me or am I here to serve the people because this job will take every bit of you - your patience, understanding, listening, physical activity and or.
