I turned a bad workday into a GREAT one by...

Being an “outside staff” was affected by the weather #1 and #2 outings size and Courses being used. Most of the normal days our job is to ride around and observe if the play is moving along nicely. If the members need help in any way we try to do so. One of the days each year was the largest outing over 250 players and it was the Philadelphia Flyers. They used. both courses and we would wear our orange shirts and black shorts proudly for the Flyer Colors. I was standing next to the carts watching how things were going and someone tapped my shoulder. When I turned around it was Bobby Clarke, one of the best ice hockey players on the Flyers and entire league. I was trying to keep my cool when Bill Barber his teammate back when they both played. He was teasing Clarke and laughing. Considering the many hours we had to put in for these outings this made the day before in even got started. Honestly, in the years I worked at DCC the bad workdays were very very few.

#MyThoughts on Getting Hired Part 1

Good Morning Community: As I promised to share with you, #MyThoughts on how to land a new career. Now that your Profile and Social Media accounts are updated it’s time to think of the career. Most people jump right into the job searching right away. With the New Year comes New Beginnings when thinking about careers and career changes. Before starting the Job Search Process why not focus on what it is you want to do?

We’ve all been in this situation at least once in our careers:

You spend days upon days going through job ads, hours upon hours tweaking your resume to fit each position, prepare to attend countless interviews and then… nothing.

You’re back right at the beginning of the cycle, going through more job ads and wondering if you’ll ever get out of this loop.

Chances are that right now, there’s something missing in your job-search process.

Maybe your resume isn’t ATS-friendly and never made it to a recruiter’s hands. Or maybe you’re not looking for ads in the right places.

Whatever it might be, we’ll teach you how to fix it with our 35+ essential job search tips!

To make this an easier read, we split up the job search tips into 3 different categories for your convenience:

Job-Search Tips - Everything you need to know about the job-search process itself. Resume Tips - A resume can make or break your job search. In this section, we’ll give you all the essential tips on making a convincing resume. Interview Tips - Not a fan of interviews? At first, no one is! But with our interview tips, you’ll feel more confident than ever. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right to it!

Job-Search Tips (To Help You Find The Right Job)

Step one of the process: scouting for opportunities.

Before you dive in and apply, you need to search for places where you, your skills, and your goals would fit.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind when job-searching:

#1. Identify Your Career Goals

Before beginning your job search, especially if you’re a recent graduate or you’re changing careers, you need to sort out your career goals and narrow down your search.

If you’re just looking for any random job, you won’t even know where to start your search from.

Instead, ask yourself: What industry am I aiming for? What specific position? Do I have a dream job? If yes, what steps do I need to take in order to get there?

Asking these questions will help you figure out what exactly it is that you’re looking for.

#2. Dedicate Time to the Search

Looking for a job is not a part-time engagement or a weekend activity. You need to be constantly on the lookout.

Schedule a number of hours/day or some specific days/week that you will dedicate to your job search and don’t stop until you have a few interviews lined up.

Alternatively, you can also set a goal to apply for 10 - 20 jobs on a daily basis.

If you do not have enough free time, you can use tools such as LoopCV that automates your job application process by collecting millions of job postings, matching your profile, and applies on your behalf. They do this in 4 easy steps:

Upload your CV and define your job preferences Create one or more job searches (Loops) LoopCV will search for matches and alert you immediately LoopCV will apply on your behalf

  1. Don’t Limit Your Search to Online Resources

Social media has been revolutionary. As of 73% of young adults claimed they found a job through a social media website. That’s a lot!

However, it doesn’t mean you should close the door on other opportunities. Attend job fairs, reach out to hiring managers, or use a career counseling service.

Nothing bad can come out of expanding opportunities and taking advantage of all job search options.

#4. Make Networking Part of Your Everyday Life

Some positions get filled internally or through networking, without ever being published.

In fact, some experts say between 70-85% of people found their jobs through networking, and it makes sense. Companies are more likely to hire someone that comes with a recommendation from a trusted source than someone they found on the internet.

Networking is becoming one of the most efficient ways to finding a job and you should take advantage of that.

Get out there, have face to face conversations with people, build connections and strengthen already existing ones. Make sure they know where you currently are professionally and where you aim to go, and learn the same about them as well.

Rather than a task, you should look at networking as a way of living.

TEST YOUR FAITH! Rethinking The Possibilities. [IBYC]

I'm telling you the truth...

I was on a ZOOM meeting with a group of people, and was so amazed at the level of doubt that circulated in the room.

Please listen so you can succeed:

HINT No. #1. You have to get rid of your self-defeating doubts which draws no conclusions to a sadden heart.

HINT No. #2. You have to dump out your old personality, to plug into your new personality the leads to success.

HINT No. #3. Yes, 2023 is going to be a booming, and rebounding year for small personal successes.

HINT No. #4. You definitely want to be a part of vibrant things to come.

This is how you unlock the vaults in your life by "rethinking the possibilities."

Job search?

I am 73 and looking for employment with higher wages and no requirement for covid shots! I have worked in health care since mid 1970s and achieved many recognitions and have had a personal care home for 10 yrs. till my husband got ill and I gave up my home since he did not want to stay at the care home and he needed me! He was #l in my concerns then and my family will always be #1! I had covid and didn't even realize I had it as I only had a sore throat and ear ache. I am very healthy. I don't think it is fair to discriminate against me with the covid shots demands and I resent new employees being hired at higher wages and with incentives when we are not even brought up to par with these wages. I was always willing to do overtime when needed but prefer to be a part time employee. Are there any companies that care about their current employees enough to keep them up to par with new employee wages and not demand the covid shots as a requirement for employment? Searching!!! I've worked for 2 companies at same time in past and and can do so now too till employment is guaranteed and probation time is over.

Prepare for a Job in 2023!

Pandemic lockdowns, cultural shifts, and technological advancements have forced businesses to rethink how they recruit, hire, and retain talent. Employees feel more empowered to find the right fit as their priorities in work and life change.

Shutterstock The job search landscape continues to evolve, and job seekers are learning to adapt as employers develop new recruitment strategies. These tips can help you understand how to job search in 2023 and get the edge on the competition.

Apply on job search sites.

Many savvy job seekers turn to popular job search sites to find their dream jobs. These hiring platforms host open roles from thousands of top companies.

You can refine your searches by industry, location, experience level, full/ part-time, and specific keywords. ZipRecruiter is one popular job site that simplifies the hiring process with its sophisticated AI-matching technology that connects hiring managers with the right candidate — almost like a personal recruiter.

Apply on-the-go with mobile applications.

The ability to apply for jobs via mobile app is a benefit modern job seekers can take advantage of. ZipRecruiter's #1-rated job search app1 makes searching and applying from your phone effortless. Alerts keep you informed by letting you know when your application was reviewed, and one-tap apply enables you to submit your profile to jobs anytime, anywhere.

Prepare for more video interviews.

Phone screening is standard for recruiters, but many employers are opting for virtual interviews during every step of the hiring process. While some people thrive during in-person interviews, meeting over video chat has its benefits.

If the company isn't a good fit, you save yourself a trip to their office, and taking notes for talking points is easier. Ace your next video interview by preparing your space and rehearsing answers to potential questions ahead of time.

Is flexible work right for you?

Modern employees are beginning to expect remote and hybrid working situations from their employers — or they will find an organization that allows it. Offering flexible working locations expands the talent pool employers can choose from and can provide a better work-life balance for employees.

Optimize your resume.

Employers can receive large volumes of job applications, so they use software programs to filter resumes and applications by specific keywords and criteria that meet their requirements. You can optimize your resume by referencing the words from the job listing. See what terms and keywords employers use in the job descriptions can help your application appear higher in their filtering system. Another great way is to pay attention to the Help Wanted Signs along the way. #advice #jobs
