Are you taking a break from job searching this 4th of July, or using the holiday to catch up on applications? 🇺🇸

I would like to say I took a break from applications this Fourth of July, but I can't. I did a lot of work on the computer, looking for jobs instead.

Have you ever accepted a job you weren’t excited about? How did it turn out?

Yes

Yes I did have jobs in the past I wasn't excited about. At that time I took the Job because I had some experience and of course I needed the money.

Would you take a pay cut to work from home full-time? Why or why not?

No, I wouldn't, it would limit my ability to be physically active.

I would because I have bills

How long is your resume?
- One page
- Two pages
- Three or more pages
- I don't have a resume

2

My resume is two pages but I feel my specific skillsets need to be conveyed so you would have a greater understanding of what I can bring to your table.

How do you prepare for interviews when you're applying for jobs in a new field?

I pray

How do you stay motivated when the job search feels never-ending?

I try to stay focused and follow through for the job I am looking for. On top, I have clicked on some job ads and got something other than what I clicked the page for. I feel that there still might be a chance they would advertise something concrete.

Yes it is. I just delete the emails and unsubscribe. I know what I am looking for and that is it.

What’s one skill you’ve learned outside of work that helped you in your job search?

Believe that you will be good in your position, but be comfortable with the patients that it takes

Why should a broker have the right to collect on your labor ? I work for companies but there are cases when you can go temp to hire at some companies

What’s the most unexpected way you’ve found a job opportunity?

Obituaries

all!

If you could ask one honest question in a job interview, what would it be?

What is the turnaround for this job

I would ask the person. Interviewing me, if they feel, they where trained properly for their position? Or did the struggle to learn?

Do you think cover letters still matter in today’s job market? Why or why not?

I am going to have to say in this that cover letters are essential to cut oneself out from the herd that gets judged by algorithmic intelligence and then potentially thrown under the bus for lack of keyword structure. Go the extra mile and compose a cover letter, spend $10 on three day FedEx and find who the Hiring Manager is and send it direct with the resume also. Upset the applecart and don't be winnowed out by a machine. The AI Resumes that get through are generic in structure. Do the unexpected.

I'd say for most part covers letters are a formality when it comes to bringing forth your best impression of your personality, and your particular interest of the role on paper for the employer.
