I'm on my second appeal for Massachusetts PUA benefits. What I don't understand is how the IRS can throw rules at you that absolutely didn't apply when I applied. I was accepted and collected for april2020-dec 2020, then no issue with 2020 but they have an issue with 2021 and they want all the money I got for 2021 sent back for some technicallity pertaining to registering a business yet no issue with 2020. Listen that money is long gone and I don't have $7000 extra to give them nor am I making much my income is considered waaaaay below poverty. I think it's bullshit and they probably give bonuses to workers at the irs that victimize families into coughing up any of pua funds back. I verified my identity and provided countless evidence to verify my previous income. I get responses like "anyone could have sent that paper" IT WASN'T JUST ANYONE IT WAS ME AND I ALREADY VERIFIED MY ID SO WHATS THE F**KING PROBLEM. IF I would have known the bullshit I would be put through to get funding that I'm 100% entitled to I would #pua #application #coronavirus

Last year, I was working as a private contractor in a public school until Covid hit which is when they closed the schools to all people not considered full-time teaching staff. I received PUA benefits until I got a job with the Census Bureau which only lasted two months.

I reapplied for PUA benefits but was denied. After waiting many months, a TWC representative finally called me today. They told me my PUA claim was denied because my job with the Census Bureau ended for non-Covid reasons, and they went on to say I'm no longer eligible for PUA because of it.

I finally got a new job this year in May, but I did not receive PUA payments for January-April. Has anyone else been denied PUA benefits because you took a temporary job? If so, how did you deal with it? #pua

I received a letter about my PUA saying I need to prove I was affected by COVID. I’ve sent an appeal with the following statement; I was let go from my job around February 2020. I was unable to work because the primary care doctor of the person I was caring for told me her patient was high risk for COVID and immune compromised, because of that the doctor advised me not to leave the house, because if I did I would risk harming her patient and potentially killing him due to COVID exposure. The person I was caring for recently passed away on February 11, and I've since been looking for a job and can give documents for proof, death certificate and proof of looking for employment. #unemployment #pua #advice #hawaii #pandemic

#PUA #advice #unemployment What can I do if I've submitted my 2019 tax return to the Oregon employment department several times, called a dozen times and the workers on the phone tell me I have to send an email requesting they call me, sent 5 emails asking to be called, but no one has ever emailed me back or called me? I should have gotten $641/week for PUA but they only paid me the $205/week. Is there a way to get them to pay you the correct amount or a way to actually call the department that handles it? It's been over a year.

Hi @Shannon Jennings - if you’ve exhausted all other options, I would suggest trying to contact your state representative. You can also check out this article about practices to resolve unemployment issues. Though we are not unemployment experts, we are job search experts! Are you looking for work? I received a message from PUA saying my total payout was $1,980. However, I never received any payment at all. It’s almost impossible to get in contact with anyone. Suggestions? #unemployment #advice #pua

Gee it looks like i'm not the only one with this problem. I've tried to contact those people and can't get thru to anybody. Then one day I tried to login and it said I had to complete "ID.me" Oh how fun that took me hours to do! After all that I'm going to write Gov Waltz and anybody that might listen. This is ridiculous!! Debby, Minnesota
