I'm on my second appeal for Massachusetts PUA benefits. What I don't understand is how the IRS can throw rules at you that absolutely didn't apply when I applied. I was accepted and collected for april2020-dec 2020, then no issue with 2020 but they have an issue with 2021 and they want all the money I got for 2021 sent back for some technicallity pertaining to registering a business yet no issue with 2020. Listen that money is long gone and I don't have $7000 extra to give them nor am I making much my income is considered waaaaay below poverty. I think it's bullshit and they probably give bonuses to workers at the irs that victimize families into coughing up any of pua funds back. I verified my identity and provided countless evidence to verify my previous income. I get responses like "anyone could have sent that paper" IT WASN'T JUST ANYONE IT WAS ME AND I ALREADY VERIFIED MY ID SO WHATS THE F**KING PROBLEM. IF I would have known the bullshit I would be put through to get funding that I'm 100% entitled to I would #pua #application #coronavirus
I live in az i applied for pua was never given any retro pay but did receive weekly benefits for about 2 and a half months now since Nov 1 all my pay ments say in progress and when I call them it's basically just hurry up and wait. I'm wondering if any one has received payments after they put your acct on hold because everyone I talk to is still waiting #unemployment # #stressful #pua #arizona
I received a letter about my PUA saying I need to prove I was affected by COVID. I’ve sent an appeal with the following statement; I was let go from my job around February 2020. I was unable to work because the primary care doctor of the person I was caring for told me her patient was high risk for COVID and immune compromised, because of that the doctor advised me not to leave the house, because if I did I would risk harming her patient and potentially killing him due to COVID exposure. The person I was caring for recently passed away on February 11, and I've since been looking for a job and can give documents for proof, death certificate and proof of looking for employment. #unemployment #pua #advice #hawaii #pandemic
I have been out of work since the very beginning of this COVID pandemic. I live in a very small area and jobs are already hard to find. I worked as a bartender and was laid off because of the states shutdown. I was never hired back on because the owners simply couldn't afford to hire all of us back for our regular shifts. I started receiving PUA mid-June and did collect some back pay. My PUA benefits ran out beginning of December. December 5, 2020, to be exact, was the last week I was able to certify. I was then asked to verify my identity and that week was listed as approved, but pending (until I could verify my identity). So, I did send in my proofs and I still have yet to receive my last weeks payment. When I log into MiWAM I am still prompted to verify identity. When I click Submissions, you can see that I did send my proofs to the. I also recieved a letter and an email confirming that Ibhad sent in proof and it was approved. I'm frustrated because I still can not find work O am a single mother of 2 teenage boys. I am struggling to make ends meet and am very afraid of being evicted from our home.
My questions are scattered throughout this post, if you can see that I am very unsure of what steps I should or can even take at this point.. or is it just a waiting game now? Also.. I am wondering if because my benefits exhausted before the PUA extensions were approved, does that mean I do not qualify? I looked for a way to re open my claim or to file a new claim and I dont have any links to either of those options.
HELP!? Please. Any advice is welcomed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
