I want to be needed again. I am a 66 year old veteran disabled widow.

I can hand write anything and put together packages. #disabled Don't let that word stand label me. I did many things I am proud of. My head and my drive say it all. I am still a perfectionist and some have called me anal when it comes to being an over achiever. #jobsearch #management #motivation #wordsofadvice

I am currently on disability and am looking to work from home part time possibly in the medical field since that is the field I am trained in and worked in over the past 40 years. I worked in a hospital in Philadelphia for over 25 years until they closed. I was cross trained in Outpatient Registration, Admissions, Financial Counseling and even worked in dr's offices. I was an Office Manager for a plastic surgeon and front desk person for Rheumatologist, Primary Care dr's and walk in clinics. I moved to Florida 17 years ago and continued working in dr's offices and usually ended up working at the front desk and another job was as a medical records clerk. I went to Kaiser College back in 2009 and got certified in medical billing and coding and moved to Massachusetts for a job in that field and once I started working there they put me at the front desk due to staff shortages.. I returned to Florida for health reasons and continued getting hired as a receptionist/front desk person until I got on disability .I type 65 wpm and enjoy working in the medical field where i feel I am most qualified and know I am helping people. I did work from home for Disabilitydigest.com a few years ago and enjoyed it, but the pay was below poverty level so I did resign from that position as did my 4 team/co-workers. I am willing to work from home and try another field outside of the medical field. #healthcare #workfromhome #disabled #florida #jobsearch

The Americans with Disabilities law says you must be able to perform the duties of the job "with or without" an accommodation.

Is that why the billings departments and other jobs continue to make mistakes that we have to constantly correct as not only with disabilities but as a consumer.Without proper training and better accommodations the people that is hired lacks the abilities to fit those positions, the staggering stigmatizing of prejudice is appalling not only in the work force more so in the housing market. The lack of suitable accommodations diminish productivity and self-esteem.

It's stressful to find work after 16 years on mental disability, but I am looking. I have no car either, which, I think might make my search easier with certain jobs. #disabled #jobsearch #ageism

One thing I would have loved to have at #Disabled American veterans was

Honest people to work with and be able to receive the money I was entitled to.
