Getting back to the workforce after 10 years

I have been a stay at home mom for 10 years and am looking to get back to work. Do I write that I’m a sahm on my resume? Can I still write my old job as my work experience even though it’s been 10 years? I haven’t done much but take care of my kids and grandma all these years. What do I say when asked to tell about myself during the interviews?

Of course there was risk and most of my staff got it at one time over the past few years. Get vaccinated, wear the mask, and answer customer questions while practicing as much distance you can. If in close contact and not feeling well then stay home and get tested

I worked in a financial office for almost 30yrs, until covid. The business was sold at that time. I have been randomly looking for part time work but now it has become necessary that I find a part time position.

DID YOU TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT? Think Before You Act. [IBYC]

I'm telling you the truth...(Must Read)

Sometimes, things can happen in the workplace faster than a blink of your eyes.

SCENARIO: A small group of co-workers may conspire against you, leading to your eventual termination from the job.

How will you respond?

OLD MINDSET APPROACH:

You may choose to act out of character to even the score, so-to-speak. My friends, that's not beneficial at all.

NEW MINDSET APPROACH:

Always present your truths, and facts to your Supervisor, and HR Representative for best results.

Always "take your best shot in life" and no matter what the outcome may be, other doors of opportunities will open in your favor.

I Believe You Can...!

I’m energetic and eager to learn new skills. I’m always on time and organized. I am a honest and trustworthy person. Last but not least I’m a innovator, always coming up with innovative ideas. Looking for a job that can work with my child’s schedule. I’ve been a stay at home mom for four years and ready to get back on my feet.

Listening to a leader is very different from becoming one. In my case, I stood at the window of my self-made quarantine classroom. My cousins were my students. While our world used to be explored by walking on busy sidewalks and learning among dozens of others in diverse buildings and outdoor spaces, it seemingly became relegated to only books and the internet. I refused to allow the classroom and life to be limited to the spaces we knew before. My cousins, however, were less hopeful. To set new expectations and find passion again, I stepped into the lead, and helped us unlearn our old learning habits and adopt new ones. Namely, learning subjects that aren’t taught in school. Using my personal interest in business, I researched and taught about supply and demand, taxation, price controls, monetary policy, exchange rates, interest rates, unemployment and inflation amongst many other topics to understand individual markets and government policies. With my words and actions, I began expressing my ideas and thoughts while encouraging perspectives I'd never considered. We didn't care that we weren't out learning in the world, as we created our own. I embrace my ability to make any space a learning space, and pursue goals in both word and in action. As time went by, I gradually understood that leadership in the classroom, both traditional and as untraditional as a classroom could be, is not only a responsibility, but also a matter of determination. After I became an intern, working three days per week and conducting all administrative duties alongside my father’s company officers I have only furthered my curiosity about the contributing factors to the world economy. For example, I passed the selection to work at Wiser Sales Platform’s, qualifying me to work for Flavio Augusto, renowned Brazilian entrepreneur with just sixteen years old. Selling English language learning tools was equally exhilarating and challenging. Though I beat my sales goals, I constantly contemplated which economic factors were behind Wiser’s success. Just like I translated business terms for my father’s enterprise, I took steps every day as Investment Club President to translate market theories into easy-to-understand, friendly explanations for my fellow PASB students. At USF I similarly value sharing knowledge between community members, being part of the BRASA Investment Trust, which it doesn’t merely translate economics, it advances it. I look forward to elaborating on how my specific skills and abilities will benefit your organization. Please feel free to contact me.

Something important I've learned during the pandemic is...

Be patient and stay the course if you love cleaning.
