Just keep applying and soon you should have work

Do you prefer working from home or in an office? What helps you stay productive?

As a very sharp, past VP in healthcare, consulting, communications, I would prefer remote work now. ☺️

30 hours a week at $30 an hour

Work environment also

Have you ever left a job because of a bad company culture? What happened?

No

Yes. The prestige of the CEO started taking priority over providing a safe working environment for employees. There was a lot of integrity demanded of employees, but in the end, none extended to them by the executive team.

What’s one skill you’ve learned recently that helped in your job search or current role?

As much as you wanna push you, gotta hold back when you have new guys till you find out their abilities and then teach them the correct way to do things and then their speed will come

Can’t stress over all the small things not everything’s gonna go perfect just keep pushing forward and do your best in a few teach young guys that are just learning to have respect for the equipment and tools that they use. You always have nice stuff, but you have to lead by example take care of your tools and equipment by example.

🐧❄️Air Conditioning: A Secret Benefit to Retail!? 🧊🍦
Gotta love the industrial central air conditioning of most retail buildings! Not unlike seeking refuge in the cinema, sometimes having to clock-in can be literally refreshing on these hot summer days! (Pro-Tip: department stores tend to be one of the coolest buildings in the city. 🌇 )
On the other hand, being trapped at work without that sweet, sweet AC can be absolute torture! 👿 Standing at the register, getting grumpy, interfacing with sweaty customers who are just as grumpy can be a huge challenge. Finally get home, sometimes you just melt into the couch and take a heat nap.
Here are a few tips to stay cool on the job:
Stay hydrated! This rule should be followed at all time during all seasons, but it’s especially true during the hot months. Hydration can keep the body regulated and the mind focused. Talking to and assisting customers can be taxing on the body, and a dry mouth or sluggish feeling can be incredibly uncomfortable.
Dress comfortably. This rule is contingent on how much sartorial freedom your job allows, but generally, it’s important to wear clothes that breathe, and shoes that are supportive, but not restrictive.
Keep a cool attitude. Some of the body’s heat regulation can be affected by mental states. By remaining calm and being patient, your body can regulate its temperature by avoiding cortisol spikes and other stress responses.
Don’t be afraid to take a break—if you can! Taking a break can be the little reset that your body needs to keep going and stay cool.
So, fellow Jobcasers, have your employers been cool about beating the heat?

Would you take a pay cut for a fully remote job? Why or why not?

Yes

It depends on the situation and why a pay cut would be necessary. Let's keep the pay the same or more and work from home. There is no need for a pay cut.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received—and did it help you?

Completely right

I need a job bad

What do you think is the biggest misconception about remote work?

The biggest misconception about remote work is that remote workers do not work as hard as a in-office workers. The fact is that a good worker works as well from home than from their office.

I prefer working with others more. Home is more distracting.

If you could give one piece of advice to your past self at the start of your career, what would it be?

The grass is not always greener. In the long term, it may be more worthwhile to stick with a good reliable job to show reliability on your resume.

Not everyone is your friend, not everyone wants to see you make it, not everyone is cheering for you like you are for them. And YES DAMNIT ITS OK TO CRY, but not I don't of your boss, right then you need to take what ever criticism they are throwing at you, smile say thanks for the input, turn around and run to the nearest bathroom, your car and cry there. Crying is not a sign of weakness, it means your human
By keeping the faith and knowing if I stay focused and motivated it will soon pay off
