When I finally made the decision to change my life I knew that the first thing I had to do was to get my health in order and I mean physical health and mental health so I sought out doctors who understood me a psychiatrist to counsel me and began the journey to get myself back on my feet it was not easy sometimes I went to two three appointments today but I knew that my best future out there was worth it so I continued. It wasn't long before I began to see changes my anxiety disorder drastically got better my health was feeling better which made me feel better about myself and I'm still on that journey today I can say that I'm not where I used to be but I am not where I want to be either it is a daily process a step-by-step decision to take care of those little issues in life. As I write this today I am 33 months clean and sober and that is after a lifetime of drug addiction I'm finally free. That cloud is off of me on the bright side of a brand new life shines upon me everyday not to say they are not clouds and sometimes rain because life is full of ups and downs but it's about putting yourself in the best position to overcome those or sometimes to just endure them. My next step in life is to find full-time employment and I'm waiting right now after a job offer from Goodyear for my background check to be completed. It does have me nervous because there are skeletons in my closet but I'm just hopeful that they will give me a second chance to show them I am an employee they would love to have on their side and on their team

Billy's reckless choices landed him behind bars, a string of felonies defining his past. Yet, within the prison's cinder block and steel walls, he forged a new identity.
Studying the reflection coming from the metal plate attached to the wall in his cement box, he decided he would focus on only that which would move him forward. He enrolled in every vocational and self-help program that was offered, which he excelled at, earning respect among the inmates, and even mentoring others seeking redemption.
After a decade, freedom and all that entails, embraced Billy once again, but society's rejection and skepticism awaited. Undeterred, he channeled his prison-honed skills into woodworking, crafting intricate pieces. His business took root, despite raised eyebrows from employers hesitant to overlook his record.
One day, a letter arrived—his felonies expunged. Tears flowed as the weight of his past lifted. Billy's story evolved into one of triumph—a testament to clawing back from darkness. He thrived, empowering fellow ex-convicts and advocating for reform, his life a canvas painted with resilience.

Special Announcement for Job Seekers with Felonies
I read posts from members here on Jobcase & in the Fair Chance to Succeed group that echo each other in their frustration over not being able to find a job or not being able to access resources they need to successfully reenter society. Finding a job is just one of the challenging obstacles they have to navigate an order to be successful and not contribute to the statistics of recidivism. Even if they are able to relocate to a new area to avoid individuals, populations and triggers of old behaviors they still need to find employment to support themselves and pay fines or restitutions.
Well, there is great news that you can find right here on Jobcase! As more resources are becoming available to those with felony backgrounds and more employers are willing to look at reentry populations as a viable workforce resource your odds of finding a job are increasing daily. And that's good news!
Some people that join Jobcase don't realize that we have a Resource Center that has very specific information to help guide and educate you on what's available under your particular circumstance. If you use the resource icon at the bottom of your page you will find a Second Chance Resource Center. Within this section you will find links to job search platforms that focus on assisting felons to find job and resource leads. The other terrific thing about that resource center is that one of our Community Specialists, @Janice Reed, provides current and informative posts that offer information about felon friendly industries, the best job search platforms for those with felony backgrounds, Federal resources, housing, financial assistance and so much more!
If you've never checked out the Resource Center I recommend going there immediately and seeing what it has to offer you. I'm also including a link at the end of this post with some additional information. Perhaps today is the day you find the lead you've been searching for and the rest is up to you. 👍
