Patricia (Patty) Chaballa, RN
Hello Gregory! I found your post very interesting. I have been in the nursing profession for over 30 years. I started as an LVN and then went back to school and became an RN. The stories I could tell! I currently am going through a horrible time. My lisence has been put on probation. It all started with a medication error I made and I ended up here....out of work and so far, unable to find anyone willing to hire me with an "unclean" license. Over all the years, I certainly have seen the "Nurses Eat Their Young" phenomena many times, and/or simply co-worker disrespect or even bullying in some ways. I have worked on units that have strong clicks with an intimidating impact on those not included and so on. Approximately 10 or so years ago, this started being addressed via in-services, RN publications of articles on the subject, and CEU classes. In my case, I never in a million years thought I would be someone's target, but that is, to a large degree what ended up happening to me that started with the error I made. My story is a long one, I won't go into details here, but in spite of the emotional toll, the anger, frustration, depression...you name it that I have been through with all this, I still feel that I cannot allow this to be only about me. From the start, I have had a strong desire to help others in some way and not let this go away without something good coming out of it. I am very happy to see that you want to do something about "employee abuses and neglect" issues in Nursing and related to patients. I certainly can discuss the patient side f this as well. If there is anything you would like to discuss with me or anything I can do to help you on this subject, please feel free to contact me. Thank you so much to taking this on and caring about finding solutions.
I am recently in the job market as a Registered Nurse Case Manager, and I am finding that most of the potential employers are now only utilizing contract employees initially, and then they are offering positions. I was wondering if this is a regional issue or if this is the norm throughout the USA? I am in the Midwest.
Hi everyone! I wanted to reach out to see if it is just me or is looking for a position very confusing now a days. I'm in a wonderful field for jobs, but I am overwhelmed with the emails and not sure where to focus my search. Would love to hear how others have handled this?
Any remote jobs open? I'm a seasoned registered nurse (almost 10yrs in the game!), but am opened to trying something new! Call center, customer service, anything! I was accepted for a remote position with NYS DOH but they don't have any need for my position yet (unless covid God forbid picks up again). Any links, ideas, whatever are appreciated!!! #workfromhome #remote #remotejob #remoteposition #registerednurse
