bakery, fish department and general sales

I have been a baker for four years starting from flour to the finish bread. I chartered and worked with seafood for 25 years, from fileting fish to preparing for the customer. I also work with people very well and can lead if needed

I’m interested in the career track process at big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot.

Interested in a possible career change into retail management. Do service associate employees at these stores get automatically promoted by management or do they have to apply for open manager jobs and compete for the job with every other internal and external applicant?

Job seeker

A dedicated future employee seeking employment with a stronger than usual work ethic that will make supervisors glad they made a hire that makes the company shine. Will you or hiring factions make the choice of hiring a team player ready to start??

I once applied for a retail job and they didn't call me to work for over 3 months so don't take it as a definite no. Sometimes they gather applicants prior to the actual time they want to start interviewing for the position or any number of other scenarios that have nothing to do with you. Due to the fact that most online apps are read by computers and not necessarily a person the more your application comes through and has the key words they are looking for the more your chances increase. Calling and following up shows professionalism while making your name and face familiar. Alyssa and Jane are on point... The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I don't think your doing anything wrong but I know from experience that these companies a can take from 8-12 weeks to respond if you meet the qualifications their looking in an applicant to fill the job. Call or visit the store in person to check you employment application status.

I have just retired and have found out I'm not a sit around kind of guy. I have been a maintenance man for the past 17 years and I'm very fimilar with your store and it's employees. If you are hiring in the near future I'm very interested in part time work. I worked for Chimes in Delaware and took care of all the repairs at their 23 group homes. I feel I would be an asset in helping customers find what they need for all their home improvement jobs. Hoping to hear from you when you are hiring. My home number is 610-485-5440. Thank you
