💼🔎 Los Angeles Summer Job Fairs 🎡🌇

Hey LA-area Jobcasers! I just found out that Eventbrite compiles lists of area job fairs coming up in the near future. Some of them are in-person, and some of them are remote. Additionally, they also provide an interactive map to find the nearest options.

Job fairs are particularly beneficial in that they often provide a great way to get your foot in the door. Oftentimes, a resume and cover letter can disappear in inboxes or automated algorithm blind spots. When you show up in person, or online, you immediately distinguish yourself from the competition!

If you’re not an Angelino, you can change the area settings on their site and find job events near you!

Just looking for a safe and professional work place envirorment.

Placing all of these adds is kind of absurd because one never seems to receive any response when they are truly just trying to find work.

STEM Careers Can Help Latinos Fight Social Inequity 😁👍🏼

In 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and while she was becoming a mother, María Fernanda Trochimezuk formed an organization called IOScholarships, which aims to help young people find the necessary scholarships to continue studying. “Every year there are so many scholarships that nobody applies for. That’s a waste.”

After studying marketing at UC Santa Barbara and being nationally selected to be part of the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative program, Trochimezuk never imagined that she would dedicate herself to building a path for students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics by providing them with access to economic resources and information.

I think this is a great initiative and can assist young people in learning useful skills and gaining employment, I can’t wait to see what happens with it. 👍🏼

Yes, there are job opportunities for entry-level phlebotomists in the San Fernando Valley. I recommend checking out Jobcase, as well as other job search providers, such as Indeed and Glassdoor, to find available positions in your area. Remember to tailor your resume and cover letter to highlight your phlebotomy skills and experience when applying. Good luck with your job search!

Should a new driver get a Hazmat endorsement?

In this video the trainer says you shouldn’t get a Hazmat endorsement if you’re a new driver. I disagree and from my own personal experience, I was hauling Hazmat out of the ports two months after getting my CDL. I also got a $4 raise just for having a Hazmat endorsement.

I recommend just getting all your endorsements so you can be more flexible and valuable. Remember there is a huge shortage of truck drivers out there and many don’t like the endorsements because it comes with more responsibilities. Just get your endorsements after you get your CDL. And when you’re ready take the Hazmat test first because it’s the most difficult. ☣️ 🚛

Any questions feel free to reach out and I can tell you the steps I took to make more money with very little driving experience.

How long should I wait to hear back from Meggitt after an interview?

It's common to wait around one to two weeks to hear back from Meggitt or any company after an interview. It's a good idea to follow up with a thank-you email or note to express your continued interest in the position. Also, consider using Jobcase along with other job search platforms to explore more opportunities and expand your options. Good luck! #jobsearch #careeradvice
