I applied to a position that came up within a certain salary range within within my search criteria. The job title seemed impressive and the job description seemed to indicate the job was rather robust. I get an e-mail to have a 30 minute phone interview. I was excited thinking this would be a good job with a good company. I have the call this morning and within 2 minutes the recruiter tells me the job pays $17 an hour. I almost dropped my phone. Now, I'm not knocking the pay as for some people that would be considered good. Or you would be ok with that pay scale. I am looking for jobs that pay considerably more than that and fits within salaries I have made. Besides that, these companies want you to do so much for the position yet don't want to pay you anything for it. I'm so darn frustrated! It's like a bait and switch situation. They make the job seem all of that then when you talk to a company recruiter it turns out to be a big nothing and further, want to pay you nothing. I think that on these online job sites the companies should have to put salaries associated to the position. This way no one is wasting their time applying for positions that turn out to be something they don't want.
Why can't companies just be up front about salaries so people l don't continue to get screwed?

So I need anyone's opinion on this. I have two jobs lined up one I started this week and the other I'm supposed to start on December 2nd if I dont like the first one. I have an extensive background in Mechanical ,Troubleshooting and Maintenance
The first one is pretty much Repairing grocery carts and Equipment inside of a Retail store at 19 an hour with a company truck and a company phone. My previous experience overpasses this job by far but its income.
The second one is a Commercial Roofing company and they want me to be an advisor for them at 50k a year with a Company phone and a Company car paid training for a week in another state but the only issue I feel like this one has is they dont pay for expenses till after 1 year of employment as far as food goes.
I'm stuck in a rut I keep looking for work seeing if something better comes along. #joboffers

I lost a position that I really loved in May of 2018. Since then I have been trying to find another position in the same field. I currently have a job but it is in retail and I hate it. I have two degrees and I am applying for the positions that I am highly qualified for. I have been on countless interviews and told that I am one of the top candidates, however I'm getting told they went with someone more qualified, or after applying I receive an email or letter stating they went with a more qualified candidate. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I ran across this group the other day and wanted to pass along a link to their website. Hey guys,
So, I was just offered a position with an organization who offered a pretty decent salary. I did not start yet as the first orientation is next week. I should be excited and anticipating starting right?
Well, this is the paradox. As I was unemployed for about 3 months applying to almost any everything, every day, for like 90 days Lol, those seeds must have started to sprout. I just was contacted for another position for a company where the position is more in line with my scope of work the pay significantly more and I am really excited about the possibility working there. As it is a school, potentially, my son would be able to attend also and this financially would be more beneficial.
The question I have to you guys is, how do you tell, or let them know In an interview that you were offered a position and the salary is really competitive? Or, do you even let them know? Will that turn them off and not continue the interview?
I never experienced this before so I'm really confused as to what to do. Can you guys help or give any recommendations?
Thanks in advance, Charles
