Well It could work that way with only having 12 hours. If the hospital is going to pay for overlap, I think it's fair to assume that they don't want to have to pay both employees extra hours.

What does it take to become a Medical Assistant?

I suspect that my story is similar to many others. I emigrated from Cuba 8 months ago. The challenge has been difficult but also rewarding. I was a medical student and, after completing the 4th year, realized that if I wanted to impact my life and help others, I had to go where my passions, ideas, and purposes could flourish. My goal is to attend nursing school and continue the path I started more than four years ago when I decided to follow in my parent's footsteps by entering the medical field. Currently, I have become a certified medical assistant and phlebotomy. Both certifications can aid my path by enhancing the skills needed in the areas and serving others. I think the community can help me continue connecting with colleagues, patients, and families with compassion and care. #medicalassistant #healthcare #interview #phlebotomist #jobsearch

Tips for Creating an Effective Healthcare Resume!

It can be difficult to know exactly how to write a resume for certain positions, but with a few pointers you can assemble a winning resume quickly!

First make sure your resume contains updated contact information, including address and phone number. Make sure to use larger font for this information, and that details such as your recorded voicemail message are professional also.

Try writing a summary statement that uses information from the job description to highlight your skills! This summary statement should be a few sentences long and combine your personality and work ethic.

List any relevant experience or previous jobs and write a short bullet point list of 3-5 examples of responsibilities you met in those jobs. Try to lean towards action words like “managed” “assisted” and “explained”.

Think of the needs of the position you are applying for and make sure to highlight relevant hard/soft skills you have that are necessary for the role.

If you are applying to an entry level position without previous healthcare experience, consider what you have learned in previous jobs that could be useful. Do you have excellent communication skills? Have you been flexing your problem solving muscle in customer service work? These skills can set you apart and are necessary for most healthcare jobs. Make sure to include information about your education and certifications as well.

Lastly, it is important to use an easy to read font, and keep the graphics and format clear. A professional resume has been spell checked and edited for clarity. Remember this is your chance to make a great first impression!

More job openings in February.

In February 2022, the healthcare labor pool saw significant recovery with the addition of 63,500 jobs, primarily in ambulatory healthcare services, home health care services, dentists' offices, and other health practitioners' offices, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, the sector is still down 306,000 jobs from its pre-pandemic level in February 2020. The nursing and residential care facilities sector added 7,200 new jobs, while hospitals added 2,700 new jobs. Healthcare was one of the primary contributors to the country's employment rise of 678,000 in February 2022, according to the bureau. The American Hospital Association recently called healthcare workforce challenges a "national emergency" and requested new policies to address staffing shortages, labor spending, workforce pipeline, and employee mental health.
