PLAY TO WIN, NOT TO WONDER! [IBYC]
Listen carefully, this could change your life.
Are you searching for a new job like everyone else? Is it more difficult than you could imagine.? Did someone say..."it's a piece of cake."
- Determine what other people did?
- How did your friends approach this common situation.
Remember, this one special clause as if your life depends on it and it just might.
"If you want something you never had, you have something you never done, that is, stop following other people's advice." While they're playing checkers in life, you must play chest, if you want to win. (See illustration below.)
Play to win not wonder!

Remote work
I have applied at many remote jobs and nothing. There is one in particular, BCD Travel, that has the same positions continously available yet when I apply I get rejected. I have even notified I have extensive experience for the positions I'm applying for. I'm not understanding what I may be doing wrong. #jobsearch #workfromhome #advice

Michaels Interview/Application Question
Hello, I applied online through the Michaels Careers website over the weekend for a Service Team Member position. The job posting had only been up for about a day when I applied.
It's been about 3 business days, and I was wondering how long it usually takes Michaels to respond. Do they normally call, email, or both? Do they send rejection emails, or is it common not to hear back?
Would it be okay to call the store and say something like:
"Hello, this is (my name). I submitted an application a few days ago and was wondering if there have been any updates on my application."
I also have a question about the education section. The application had me list my high school and college separately, which I did. However, for the education level dropdown, I selected High School (HS) for both because I graduated high school but am still attending college and have not earned a degree yet. There wasn't an option for "currently attending college" or "degree in progress," and I didn't want to claim a degree I haven't earned.
Could that hurt my chances, or was that the correct thing to do given the options available?
Also, for anyone who has interviewed at Michaels, what kinds of questions do they usually ask?
This would be my first job, so I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks! #application #interview #advice #jobsearch #education
