What’s the most unexpected way you’ve ever landed a job?

Once years ago I went to a print shop to get copies of my resume done, this was back before the Internet, when you had to submit a resume physically. Anyways, the print shop left a copy of my resume in the copy machine after my order was done. The owner of the shop came in about 30 minutes later and found my resume in it, and called me and offered me a delivery job there.

What does a healthy work environment look like to you?

Have you ever gotten a job in a field you had no formal education in? How did you do it?

Yes, i got a job as a "crane operator" actually turned out to be a freight elevator operator on a commerical construction site, a friend called me up, knew i wasnt working and needed something, asked me if i would consider it for $18/hour plus guaranteed 20 hours a week overtime, i said sign me up and when do i need to be there! I started the next morning and worked for 3 weeks until his regular operator got released by his dr to come back to work!

Have you ever left a job with no backup plan? Why?

Layoff backup plan was in place until I was without a job longer than anticipated. Therefore I would NEVER buy a car or anything associated with any of their brands!

Use the internet to look them up

I use glassdoor, ziprecruiter, LinkedIn and other job sites. Many have company critique area's. Some you have to take with a grain of salt. If one or two critique's are negative, that is usually just a pissed former employee, but if all the critique's are negative, that is a red flag and you should run the other way. Also if you see the that repost the same jobs quite a bit, that is also a red flag. You have to ask yourself, " Why is there so much turnover of people in these positions??!! Lastly, if the ad or something in the ad sets off you spidey sense, then listen to your gut.

Good question. I'd pick something in your education or recent work history that stands out or looks unusual, such as switching from English Lit in college to Corporate Finance in Grad School. Then explain your thought process, such as "I wasn't planning on becoming an English Lit major but wanted to be able to explain financial analytical results in language that everybody could understand."

I love working, come from parents who work hard all their lives. Two older siblings and Two younger siblings in my family. Learn something everyday when working with customers and coworkers. Enjoy life.
