How do you answer the “Tell me about yourself” question in interviews?
It’s tough—what’s your approach?

Keep it focused on the requirements of the job in general, not personal observations about yourself. For example, "I'm reliable and dependable, I have a great work ethic, and I work well with all different types of people"

Read my resume. It works every time. I let them know that I'm outgoing, a people and pet person, I enjoy working with the public, get along with almost anyone, and I'm ready for whatever you throw my way.

I am a people person and love to connect with different individuals. I make the best of any situation and do my best to be an example to others.

TO ME THIS IS AN ACTUAL LOADED QUESTION, WHAT ARE THEY SEEKING HERE, YOUR PERSONAL VIEWS OF YOURSELF, FOR EXAMPLE, HOBBIES, INTERESTS, LIKES AND DISLIKES? I WAS ONCE ASKED THIS QUESTION FOR A JOB I FELT I WOULD DO WELL IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN IN A PHOTO SHOP. HOWEVER, I DIDN'T GET A CALL BACK. I EXPOND ON MY CHARACTER, HOW WELL I WORKED WITH OTHERS, HOW DEPENDABLE AND WILLING TO ASSIST MY TEAM. NONE OF THOSE THINGS WORK. I BELIEVE IT'S THE PERSON WHO'S LOOKING FOR A CERTAIN KIND OF INDIVIDUAL. I WASN'T IT. I WAS INTERVIEWED BY A YOUNG CAUCASIAN FEMALE. THEY WEREN'T LOOKING FOR A MIDDLE-AGED BLACK WOMAN. WHAT'S FOR YOU, OTHERS CAN'T STOP YOU. KEEP TRYING BE AS PLEASANT AS YOU ARE. FAKENESS COMES THROUGH.

Im a people person...
