What’s one professional risk you took that paid off?

I have experience in cleaning

I need to work.

Hey

Buick Enclave

I had decided that cleaning was just not what I wanted to do any longer. It was to taxing on my body. I was away from my child at night. And the work/ home ratio just wasn’t making the time I was at home worthwhile for my family. Trying to sleep during the day proved to be harder than I thought. I was usually physically beat and sore. And cranky. So I applied with an aerospace position. 8 years later I have a total new set of mechanical skills to add to my resume. My self worth has improved. My family gets a better version of me. Not to mention the financial stability I gained, from the hourly wage increase, and better benefits package Which ultimately has given my family more opportunities.

I'm a people person so I don't think work at home get the feel of being a team player

At the time, I was working full-time and had a stable job, but I felt like I had hit a ceiling. I decided to enroll in courses to earn a Nationally Accredited Maths and English Level 2 certification — even though it meant sacrificing evenings, weekends, and personal time. It was a risk because I wasn't guaranteed a promotion or a new job after finishing.
However, getting those qualifications opened unexpected doors. Not only did I qualify for roles that required higher literacy and numeracy skills, but employers also saw my willingness to learn as a major asset. Within a year, I landed a better-paying position with more responsibility and growth opportunities.
The biggest lesson? Sometimes the best investment you can make is in yourself. Taking a professional risk to build your skills — even when it feels uncertain — can lead to opportunities you never imagined.

Changed professions from artists to driver

I told my bosses boss, after she was done doing my review " I want your job."
Best thing I ever did. ❤️
I switched into a department of the laboratory which was Toxicology, however I had no experience in the field of Toxicology, but I went on to learn so much more of chemistry and the physiology of the human body.
