Have you ever turned down a job after an interview? What made you decide?

Yes they told me that they got a person to work. I'm very frustrated to find a job. I applied over 200 and still not hire me.

Yes a few times. A interview is for both employee and employer. I didnt like the way i felt during an interview so i thanked them and went home

Yes I turned down a job offer after an interview I saw too many red flags too many employees quitting without explanation and the pay was too low for the job description also the job did not offer any benefits.

The fall after B-School I was summoned to the HQ of the acquiror of the investment bank where I had spent the summer.
The person summoning me said, “Come to 1xxx Avenue of the Americas at 3pm to interview for your summer job.” I said, I already had a summer job and what was she talking about.
Apparently, they wanted me to join them but it was not a firm I wanted to work for.
Trapped in a room with male and female VPs, they asked me, “If we made you an offer right now that would disappear when you left the room, would you take it.”
I said, “Absolutely not!”
They said, “Then why are you here.”
I said, “I haven’t the slightest,” and walked out.
The next day a very nice MD callled me and asked me to come back. I told him the story and he started laughing and said that was exactly what he would have done.
But he was nice, so I went back and politely he said of course I was welcome, but would I be happy doing small deals. I said, honestly, I wanted to do private equity and he understood. Still know him, don’t know the VPs but the look on their faces was priceless.

Totally agree the interviewer is a window to the job . I took a job with Red flags during my interview and quit after one week - it’s was toxic and never hit a straight answer

Yes once.
It might have been a good job in the long run, but in the meantime there were red flags at the interview. The training for the job was way across town from me. I'd have spent hours on the road going to and from the training facility. My child would have been in daycare even longer daily. I would have to get help picking him up after daycare.
They start you out part-time, so there's no insurance. No promise of full time work.
And the interviewer was a real jerk. He stared at me like I was an idiot between questions.
So maybe it was just the interviewer, and later the personal would have been better? But sometimes the interviewer is an example of the rest of the employees. That's how it felt.

No, I have never turned down an interview but I have never been an Independent Contractor

Can you call me ?

Low pay, small work area, old equipment, Bad location, Uncomfortable.
No I turned a job interview down because I got a job right before the interview, I would do the interview n see what they say n maybe work a few weeks before I decide to stay or move on
