I like setting career goals, but at the same time time I do know when I am, and when I am not afforded possibilities. If I had the talent and fortitude, then I should be advancing and not being looked over for somebody else with less experience or talent.

I usually go with the flow! setting a goal can sometime led to depressive times if everything doesn't go as planned. therefor its better just go with the flow .

Always focus on the 5-10 year plans. While in the military I had to set my duty stations by 3 year plans. So it's a slippery slope but that stress helped propelled me to early retirement in 4 years.

No, I don’t believe in creating a 5 year goal. Because, through experience goals can happen with in a year, depending on the organization to promote within. I am really not the type to go with the flow, because the flow may not allows be the right thing to do.
