What’s the most respectful thing a boss or coworker has ever done for you?

Said I did good job

I was working as a biller at that time. I was to bill for a new entity for the company I was working at. We were going to be billing for new services because of a machine that was purchased. I had investigated the new CPT codes for the procedure. I had a new boss who said no you will bill the combination of CPT codes I want you to. I had explained why I thought we should bill otherwise. He told me to do what he wanted. So, for 7 months I billed and was getting rejection after rejection. I started working overtime unpaid because of all the denials. He was not a biller, but I was. Steve was the owner's friend from high school. So, what he wanted was the way it was going to be. When I would go to him the conversations ended with him yelling at me. I would stand there and take it. I cried inside but did not show it outwardly. After 7 months he came to me and said I guess you were right. That was the nicest thing someone did for me. But after that he came to me and said he could not work with me. I told him I would find a new job. He was the owner's friend & no he never told his buddy it was his error for all the denials. As well as the delays in reimbursement. I had been at that company for more than 14 years.

Gives comments on how good of job I do

Made me feel welcome & included when working a new job in a new location

I WAS A WAITER IN A GREAT RESTAURANT AND THIS GUEST TURNED ON ME. I INTRODUCED HIM TO MY MANAGER. HE SAID A LOT OF THINGS ABOUT ME THAT ARE NOT CLOSE TO THE TRUTH, AND THEN SAID "AND I WANT HIS JOB!!" MY MGR SAID, "YOU DO? HOW MUCH WAITER EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? CAN YOU HANDLE UNRULY CUSTOMERS?"

Told me that I was appreciated and took me out to lunch.

I had a boss that I know that they didn't really like me. and tolerated me. but would still hear me out and helped with ways to help with situations I was in.

Made sure that I had everything I needed to do my job well.

Believe in me, by allowing me to be teachable and learn on my own.
Show me trust and respect that goes both ways
