Are you allowing jobs to pass you? Often times we can get sidetracked and distracted by our daily life allowing jobs to past you by. Last week I held a town hall Leadership meeting with employers and employees. One topic that stuck out is a lack of preparing for the interview. When answering questions do you use the UM, I Don’t Know? Not Sure? Guess So? I Think? When employers ask where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? Why not respond by including seeing yourself in a management position? What benefit would it be to hire you? Make yourself valuable to the hiring person is the key to winning them over. Interesting #thoughts here Michael. The 5 year career outlook and self promoting value line of questioning are always important and worth considering when preparing for an upcoming interview.
However, I think it’s easy to overlook a 5 year career goals when we’re in the mist of all this employment uncertainty and embarking on job a search journey while struggling through a tremendous sense of financial urgency.
I need a job right now... seems to be the overwhelming concern for a lot of job seekers today. Folks are looking for the quickest way to find a means to an end before they’re in a safe place to consider and explore long term career goals.
Nevertheless, having meaningful responses to these and other related interview questions are essential in order to land good job opportunity today.
Thanks for raising his awareness!
Hey, quick question… have you ever heard of an Undercover CNA? Erin recently shared her dream job goals in her recent post, My dream job is... Traveling undercover CNA.
It sounds a lot like something a ‘secret shopper’ would do right.
Do you know if this is an actual job? Is this the right job title? Sounds like an important job but i’m not sure I’ve actually seen anything related to this job description within the healthcare industry. Any ideas?
Hope you and your family are all doing well. Have a Fantastic Weekend! :-)
