Would you get vaccinated against Covid-19 for $100?
If you live in West Virginia and are between the ages of 16-35 you can earn a $100 Savings Bond for getting vaccinated. Governor Jim Justice was quoted on saying, "Our kids today probably don't really realize just how important they are in shutting this thing down," Justice said. "I'm trying to come up with a way that's truly going to motivate them — and us — to get over the hump."

West Virginia helps those with disabilities find work!
Making meaningful jobs for people with disabilities a reality in West Virginia is exactly what state Delegate Dianna Graves, R- Kanawha wants and has sponsored a bill to help make it happen!
“West Virginia has one of the highest percentage based on population of people that are disabled and we are the lowest in percentage based on people that are gainfully employed,” Graves said.
Integrated employment means people with disabilities can work in their communities for a competitive wage.
West Virginian Christy Black’s 17-year-old daughter Gracie has Down syndrome. Christy, an advocate for the bill, works with the West Virginia Developmental Disabilities Council.
“Society does, unfortunately, have lower expectations about what a person with a disability can or can’t do,” Black said.
She said Gracie worked at a store in Culloden, the community where she lives. Through working there, Gracie found out she enjoys flowers but also found out a lot of things about herself, too.
“She also found that guess what? ... She wants to work, she wants to get married, she wants to build a house, she wants everything that everybody else wants,” Black said.
With the bill’s passage, Christy’s work begins to educate the public about what people with disabilities can do and to change expectations so thousands with disabilities like her daughter Gracie can be in their communities doing what they love.

A new home healthcare agency facility is now open and hiring in Wheeling, West Virginia!

More West Virginians now qualify for the vaccine
As part of his regular COVID-19 briefing Monday, Gov. Jim Justice announced that more West Virginians with pre-existing medical conditions and all essential workers regardless of age will be eligible to receive the COVID vaccine.
Justice said all residents over the age of 16 will be able to get the vaccine with certain medical conditions as well as all essential workers of all ages will be vaccinated.
“I’m announcing again that we are now expanding our list for pre-existing medical conditions to be eligible to receive the COVID vaccine. All adult West Virginians, over 16 years of age will be eligible,” Justice said. “We’re also going to begin vaccinating essential workers of all ages. We still encourage all West Virginians to pre-register through our system. But if you can’t and you’re having trouble and everything is getting worse, just call us and we’ll make it all become a reality.”
Sixteen years old is the youngest age authorized by the FDA for a vaccination with the Pfizer vaccine. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for 18 years of age and older.
Way to go West Virginia standing up for your people and making sure if they want a vaccine they have access too one!

Toyota is bringing 100 new jobs to West Virginia!!
Toyota announced today that it has invested $210M in the expansion of its West Virginian manufacturing location to help meet the customer demand.
This exciting expansion will bring 100 new jobs as the company upgrades an existing engine production line in Buffalo, West Virginia!
The 100 new jobs will create a third shift due to a significant increase in RAV4 engine production at the Buffalo site, increasing assembly of an additional 5,900 engines per month, or more than 70,000 engines per year. The upgrade project and hiring will be complete in the second half of 2022.
West Virginia Governor Jim Justice commented that “This is such exciting news for West Virginia’s business community as well as our families that businesses are choosing to grow their organizations here. Toyota is a wonderful example of how a global company can be successful right here in West Virginia.”
Today’s announcement of 100 new jobs and its continued investment in the state is certainly a testament to the team in Buffalo and the West Virginia workforce.
The Governor also commented, "I am looking forward to continuing to work with Toyota officials to foster more long-term investments in the West Virginia economy, communities, and people!"
