For a newer Officer you will most likely work in the checkpoints. You show up at your scheduled time and location. Most shifts will receive a briefing before shift. Brief on any news or procedure changes that might affect your daily operations. Then start your day and go from position throughout the day. Rotated every 30 mins. There’s extra jobs you can apply for to break the minutia of day to day SOS.

TSA Career Options for Senior Applicants

I want to share excellent information I received about job opportunities with the Transportation Security Administration,TSA at a job fair yesterday. I thought my age would be looked at as a negative employment factor with the agency but I found out they actually do allot of recruiting with senior applicants. The application process can be lengthy because of the background check and investigation but the pay, benefits, and career progression for experienced candidates are unlimited. This might be a 2nd career worth looking into, https://tsajobs.tsa.dhs.gov or call (877) 872-7990.

As a company man and patriot... we as a nation must learn to accept change and chaos. It is at that time we will be a more aware, supportive, focused, and productive organization and serve the good public of which must support those that defend them.

I have worked for TSA for 10 years... The TSA encourages, trains, and inspires innovative thinking. While employed you will appreciate the dual ownership in accountability. You will find that Leadership supports the boots on the ground men and women of all walks of/in life.

Advanced Learning is funded and encouraged. Through Areas of critical thinking you are supported, a necessary skill set used to determine the best adaptive application of screening methods. Being able to assert a professional recommendation based off gut instincts for threat detection.

Their efforts to deter, detect and defend are hourly sacrifices. Odds are measured at needle in the hay stack evolving threats, and with limited means of technological readiness in people, process- acquisitions, testing, validation, and certifying its field readiness. Capabilities that must prove to be both effective and daployable via vendor in a competitive market regulated by certain standards in detection under the constraints of a dwindling budget.

Only by the combined support of intel community, and various internal, and external layers that filter out the bad and factor in the trusted community when applying speed to process improvement.

Support needs support to sustain... together as a village we all ensure the fluid movement of our modes of transportation safety.

Join! They succeed everyday!
