Positive Drug Test
There are consequences for CDL drivers that test positive for alcohol or narcotics, but there are steps that give CDL drivers a second chance to get back on the road.
If a driver test positive for narcotics or alcohol, he will be removed from “safety sensitive function” duties by their employer until they complete a “Return to Duty” program required by the DOT.
Drivers that submit a positive drug test will need to enroll in a “Substance Abuse Program” (SAP). The SAP program can take anywhere from 6-12 months. Following the completion of the SAP program, the driver will need to take a “Return to Duty” drug test that must be negative. Once these steps are completed, the driver will be able to get back on the road. Although the driver completes these steps, the positive test will still be on his/her record on “Clearinghouse” which is a database that allows employers to check your substance abuse background. Please keep in mind a drug test refusal will stay on your background and is treated the same as a positive drug test.
CDL drivers are held to high standards, so please be aware of your actions because they will definitely impact your future.

What duties would I need to complete as a CDL Driver?

I am over 60 years old, and I try to get with companies that offer 100% no touch freight. Or a company that pays lumpers to do all the unloading. I would say a delivery driver would be the most work. Usually pays more though, but you better be in good shape to do a job like that.

Looking for a home-everyday trucking job in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
I’m a recent graduate of Truck Driving having earned my Cdl with now 7 months OTR experience. My wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant. I’m looking for a local truck driving job that pays at least $1,200 per week. That’s realistic. I have a clean driving record, no restrictions and my medical card. Have you looked into your local Workforce in your county. The program is called WIOA( Workforce initiative and Opportunity Act). This program is designed to help career seekers access employment, education and training services to succeed in the labor market. This training is free and even will pick up the cost of the CDL. I will say there are some stipulations to qualify for the program. 1:you must be a resident of that state. 2: not currently hold a Class A CDL. 3: be laid off from current employer or income must not exceed program limits. #jobsearch #trucking #truckdriver

Recommendation for truck drivers
I’m very exhausted looking for a job, so I was very happy when I stumbled upon LogLink. They help Europeans (and not only) to find a job as a truck driver in the USA. What I like most about LogLink is that they pay for internship and help with driver’s license. #jobsearch #advice #driver #truckdriver
