What duties would I need to complete as a CDL Driver?

I am over 60 years old, and I try to get with companies that offer 100% no touch freight. Or a company that pays lumpers to do all the unloading. I would say a delivery driver would be the most work. Usually pays more though, but you better be in good shape to do a job like that.

You must inspect and operate your equipment in a safe manner transporting on our nations roads. You must ensure whatever you transport is safely secured according to DOT requirements. Obey the rules of the road along with DOT regulations including HOS.

Depends on what type of job you’re looking for

You must attend a truck driving school and pass a truck driving test with the state then find a company to hire you and train you. Some companies will pay for you if you agree to work for them a certain amount of time.

Number one is be safe in every step of driving..Pre trip your truck and don't pay attention to the lazy people that don't do a good inspection ... Remember your family is out on the roads and you want to make sure you both make it home safe.. your. You need to do everything by the book including loading ,strapping your loads if you are hauling hazmat you will make sure your vehicle has the correct placards and paperwork.. Make sure you take your breaks and stop driving when your suppose to by law... Because if you ever have an accident you could go to jail for driving over hours if you hurt someone.

@Kwabla Sappor This is how I got my CDL. I studied for the CDL general knowledge test. I got my CDL permit and went to trucking school which is 27 classes 1 hour each. Trucking school cost me $3,000. After I completed trucking school, they will set you up a DMV appointment for the driving, skills, and maneuvers test. They will provide the tractor and trailer for the DMV test. I recommend using the CDL prep app to study for the DMV general test.

You should join and post this in a group called Trucking Across America on Jobcase. This is specially for anything related to trucking. Lot of experienced people on there who will be able to answer all of your questions.
Depends on what kind of trucking you are doing
