Call a local Railroad office. The human service department and get a application or an interview. You better off going straight to the train yard in a major city that repairs and fixes and cleans the cars. That is basically where you would start. The better you perform the better you will advance. In Minnesota there are at least 5 yards that I know off. My husbands worked at all of them in his 25 years. Jackson street, St Paul fixes the wheels and frame work, Over on highway 61 and 35 by Brooklyn park, they so brakes and certain engine work, The one downtown Saint Paul is the biggest one. Here is a Burlington Northern/Sante Fa number. St Paul 180 East 5th Street Suite 255 St Paul, Mn. 55101 www.RRB.Gov. 1-877-772-5772. toll free.

Good luck, My husband loved working with the be trains. He said it kept him strong and like a kid at heart.

I've worked all my life in a millwright, maintenance environment. I've always wanted to work with the railroad. I live in North Alabama, and don't want to relocate, but I do love to travel. Does anyone have any thoughts?
