Know your 'STUFF'. I have found many HR people are relatively clueless about the full aspect of what you try to get across to them. They are very complacent. Many have been in the same position for a long time. They act like robots. Two dimensional thinkers. No grey matter in the middle. This is wide spread.

How long have you been out of the work force, and it doesn't matter how long you are out of the work force because you do have skills, did you work before and even though you a at home wife or mother, it doesn't matter, get you a piece of paper, sit on your bed or at your table and write down what you did on your last job or jobs, and what you do at home, I guarantee you, you will see all the experience that you have and then some. The only thing is when you go out there to find a job, you have to sell yourself. Before you go out that door to go to an interview or fill out an application, I know you have mirrors in your home, stand in front of one of them mirrors and say to yourself or out loud, "I may have been out of the work force for sometime," but guess what, I'm better than anybody else that is coming to get this or any other job." Own that job that you are going for, because when you own it, it becomes yours!! :))

It's been years since I've had job outside the home. I'm 53, I've provided home health care for relatives w/O pay. I'd like to have a PT job working from home so I may continue to care for my father in law. I have no resume. Wouldn't know where to begin. I'm ready to make my own money. I'm not getting any younger and my relatives, well... #noexperience

How do I make sure a company that is trying to hire me is the real deal?

@julie brett that's a great question, what's giving you pause about the company and their efforts to hire you? Jobcase knows that there are a lot of bad actors out there with job scams and we wrote up an article on how to spot job scams that should help you determine this opportunity.

It's also I good idea for you to fill out your Jobcase profile. As you fill out your profile we're able to better personalize your site experience, when you fill out your work history we're able to send you jobs that match your experience and with a personal profile picture on the site potential employers have a better chance of finding you. Also, a filled out profile on the site automatically creates a professional resume template that you can download and get a head start on creating your own.

How do I find a job abroad if I live in Turkey? I have been unemployed since I graduated from university. During this time, I constantly looked for remote jobs. But unfortunately, I could not get any results from this either. I do not know what to do.

Currently, Jobcase only has US job opportunities in the job search , so I'm not sure that's helpful for you in Turkey at present, but stay tuned... I noticed that you mention no experience on your post. You might want to look at the Getting Hired Resource Center regardless - there's lots of articles and practical tips for kicking off your search that might help.

First Job

Hello, I am Lee, 18, and I will be graduating in a few months. I’m leaning towards having a gap year and I would like to know what kind of jobs would be good during that time. I’ve never had a job before so my skills are probably really bad. I am looking forward to learning new things though, like maybe working as a cashier or helping customers know where things are at. #first job #gap year #noexperience

Needing suggestions

I am looking for something that is flexible on my schedule. I do online schooling, trying to get my high school diploma. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be a good start for someone that doesn't have much skills of working from home? #workfromhome #advice #training #noexperience #introvert
