Here are the Jobcasers that have earned $100 by sharing their knowledge this week:
Moriah Gugel who responded to the question "How can I show interviewers I'm ready for a Administrative Assistant job after being prior employed as a respiratory therapist ?" with the following: As the others have said, go for Medical Office Admin positions. Play up your computer skills here, your patient relations, any scheduling skills, transcription skills, data entry, any kind of correspondence skills, everything and anything remotely office administrative that you can think of that you performed in your current role, list it on your resume. Any accomplishments and achievements in those skills, list them. The more qualified you make yourself look and sound, the better off you'll be when it comes time to apply for the job. Take typing and data entry practice tests online, too. There are plenty of free sites for them.
Moriah has been a General Clerk for the past few years.
Gina Britt who responded to the question "Which skills are the most important to have to land a job at Kelly Services?" with the following: I believe having administrative skills will put you in a great position to work for Kelly. However other general skills like sales, or specialized skills, like culinary or mechanical will surely get you working.
Gina has been a Delivery Driver and a Sales Associate.

Here are the Jobcasers that have earned $100 by sharing their knowledge this week:
Ritchie Foster who responded to the question "What are the skills I need to get a Counselor job?" with the following: You can do drug and alcohol counseling especially if you have a history of it yourself or family or friend-you would be much more in demand and you can work as a peer specialist while obtaining your license as a drug /alcohol counselor. Lived experience is valuable There are 6-month programs but you need a degree in the human service field or social work. NAADAC or ICRC which is an international licensing board for alcohol and drug search online for your state and requirements; if you have a degree you just need 6 months of an accredited course. This is a broad field but you can help others with the skill to counsel.
Ritchie was a Certified Peer Specialist Act Team for Pathways to Housing, DC
Michael Ford who responded to the question "What's the biggest challenge of a Inside Sales job?" with the following: Inside Sales is all about metrics. As a former Callaway Golf ISR, I can tell you first hand the bottom line is numbers. Plan to make a minimum of 100 outbound sales calls daily. Your ‘talk time’ per call will determine how affective a sales professional you are as well. Obviously, the net net is how much revenue are you bringing in a week, month, etc. I had my dream job and loved every minute. An ISR position can be rewarding and financially lucrative. I hope this answers a good part of your question.
Michael has been a Sales Associate, Player Support Specialist and an Account Manager.

Here are the Jobcasers that have earned $100 by sharing their knowledge this week:
David Carr who responded to the question "What does it take to become a full-time Cook?" with the following: Actually, Edward Hudson's advice was spot on! I was trainedby The best. My mentors went on to be cofounders off Bonefish Grill. CP gave me my first shot in management. He kept an eye on me, but his words of advice..."be 15 minutes early, and you are a sponge...learn from the people around you." Just dont pick up bad habits! I have worked every position. Still addicted to the kitchen. Not always easy, but with the right concept you can learn a lot.
David has experience being a Line Cook and a Deli Manager.
Jennifer Kearney who responded to the question "How can I advance my career as a Analyst?" with the following: Teresa, I concur with the excellent feedback from everyone regarding your question. What type of analyst job are you presently in that you are looking to advance? As noted, there are numerous analyst functions in various fields. Perhaps additional details from you, will illicit further insights?

Here are the Jobcasers that have earned $100 by sharing their knowledge this week:
- Monique Davila who responded to the question "What are the skills I need to get a Cashier job?" with the following: It depends on what kind of business it is. You should be fairly good at math(should your register not work) you need to learn their register system. Depending on what business you’re working for, you need to do other duties(i.e. clean-up, returning items to their rightful place). Most jobs will put down what your duties are. Customer service is key. Dealing with customer service/complaints, returning of items bought. Again depends what kind of business you’re going to work for. I hope this helps
- Monique currently works for Kohl’s as a Cashier and also has experience as a Correctional Officer.
- Mary Metts who responded to the question "Where can I get training to qualify for a Phlebotomist job?" with the following: Google some in your area, then do your research as which one is most reputable based on reviews. So much has changed since I went to school in LA for a Medical Assistant. Check with your community college.
- Mary has worked as a Cardiology Technician and Laboratory Tech since 2011, most recently for Biomedical Systems.

Here are the Jobcasers that have earned $100 by sharing their knowledge this week:
Ernest Santana who responded to the question "What does it take to become a Driver?" with the following: Go to the dmv website and get a commercial vehicle manual and study it. Learning the proper way to do a pretrip will be the most tedious thing to learn. Take the permit test. Doing this means that you're serious about doing this. Then you have a few choices. Go to a truck driving school and they can guide you through the process of getting financing and through the class to obtain your CDL. Or go through a trucking company that will train you themselves but you will be obligated to work for that company for a period of time and usually at a lesser pay rate. If you are able to pay for the school then go to a company that will reimburse you for the school. Good luck.
Ernest has been a truck driver on and off since 1996 and has also worked for Carvana since February 2017, where he's been a Vehicle Transporter and a Vehicle Transport Team Lead.
Rickey Hindman who responded to the question "How can I advance my career as a Material Handler?" with the following: Hello Angel, well let's see, now in my case I learn pretty quick and iv always volunteered to help other departments when was handed or I tried to do as much research, or I watched and listened and most everyone that you have gone out you way, stayed late for to help even when your shift was over will appreciate you, and that's where people will start talking and certain eyes and ears will be secretly taking it all in, and communicate to you superiors, but try not to be to eager and over bearing, work smart and never stop learning and school yourself as research other careers and show you interest..to be honest, a material handler is basically the person that fets ask for help from other deppartments because they got the most job duties than most. At least thats how i see it. I was working seasonal at a company called Harry and David's in Medford Oregon, and I started out at 18.50 but got 60 cent more an hour because I did my duties above and beyond, and that's making the business money,
Rickey worked for Harry and David in August 2022 as a Forklift Operator/Material Handler.

Here are the Jobcasers of the Week!
Larry Jones, follow and connect with Larry here - Larry recently offered some important feedback on the #Lumper Workforce employee training process…
“They teach you how to break down a truck, it's a number system the numbers are usually bar codes and if it doesn't have one you will have to make one using a label which is usually yellow. You will place the product on pallets depending on what's on the truck you can have up to 20 different pallets it will be on your breakdown sheet, learn to use the equipment it will save you a lot of time and also help your body in the long run.”
Mark Smith, follow and connect with Mark here - Quick question… Would you rather have amazing benefits OR great pay as a Forklift Operator? Here’s what Mark has to say about this…
“For me, it depends on the forklift duties. I worked at the #ACE Hardware Distribution Center and the forklift work was demanding because you had to stock bins and you were constantly getting on and off your forklift. High pace environment also. So, to answer the question, I would rather have benefits, especially if the forklift job is very physically demanding because your body is going to break down and you will need health insurance. The other important factor is your age. The older you are, the more important benefits are!”
Hector Paredes, follow and connect with Hector here - Interested in a Real Estate Agent job? Make sure you can show this experience…...
“You will need to get licensed first to be able to work in RE. Different states have different rules/exams, so it would depend on the state you live. Usually, you don't need the experience to start working as a RE agent. Some companies would even help you with training to get the license; you can work for them once you are licensed. Get your license y a darle!”
Joseph Skrivanek, follow and connect with Jospeh here - Electrical Engineers workers are still in high demand across the country. Landing a good job often requires the best training. Here’s a short list of Electrical Engineer training options…
“1 - You can find a community college or technical school that has a degree in Electrical Technology. 2 - You can attend a 4-year college that has an Electrical Engineering degree. 3 - You can get started by getting hired as an #apprentice electrician for an electrical contractor or manufacturing company and learn the requirements for doing electrical engineering functions.”
Tina Scott, follow and connect with Tina here - A community member recently asked, How do I use my past experiences as a supervisor to land a job as a supervisor? and Tina graciously responded with some personal and practical career advice…
“When I hired Supervisors, I wanted someone I didn't have to babysit or hold their hand and walk them through every step! Someone that could solve problems or issues on their own by running to me every 5 mins. They have to know how to read their team, pull out each person's strength, and delicate authority and my biggest thing is his team should want to work well enough and hard enough to make him shine because when he shines I shine! Have a little fun at work so people enjoy coming back. My Dad always used to say " your only as good as your workers" Good Luck God Bless and don't sweat the small stuff, Ron! You'll be great!”

Deshander Dawkins, follow and connect with Deshander here - Want to learn how to make more money in the #hospitality service industry? Deshander has some insider tips you need to know…
“Well as far as my experience, I was able to get the rooms that the other employees didn't want and or show up for. I also learned how to do my own laundry and maintain my rooms, which was impressive to my manager at the time. The weekends are also busy so it wouldn't be a bad idea to let your boss know you are available morning, noon, and night. If you make yourself available you will get the hours you want.”
Gary Lukens, follow and connect with Gary here - Did you know that the national average salary for Electricians in 2022 is $26.92/hr according to glassdoor. But what are the required skills needed to land this job? Gary has some skills training suggestions…
“Depends on the state and the job. Hard rock mines don’t require a licensed electrician. If you’re looking at residential work go see your local IBEW electrical union. It’s between a 4 and 5-year apprenticeship program.”
Yvone Mondragon, follow and connect with Yvone here - Are you still waiting for a call back from a #UPS hiring manager? Yvone has a brief break-down of the companies application follow-up & hiring process…
“Hi, honestly that may vary depending on the HR or Recruiter responsible for the position. I’ve always reached out or followed up 1-2 weeks after I applied for a job if I haven’t heard anything back from HR. Right now, UPS is doing a lot of hiring for the holiday season, which for UPS, goes past New Year’s Day. So they may be loaded with applications.”
Robert Westfall, follow and connect with Robert here - ADHD is a serious health concern but it doesn’t have to be a good employment limitation. Overcome any #disability hiring obstacles with Robert's insightful and encouraging words of advice…
“I know a few people who have ADHD, even within my own family, and I've seen them do amazingly well with things they enjoy. One sister, who still lives like me in our parent's home, is GREAT at both art and writing, although she does need to have some help in spelling things out. I recommend you find something you yourself are good or great a. If it turns out to be a skill that’s in high demand or able to be sold/marketed in any form, THEN you can try going into that marketing scheme. But the first step would be to find a skill, talent, ability, or passion that works FOR YOU and not AGAINST YOU. Any disability can become a strength if you learn to hone those things that it offers you.”
Shirley Bratton, follow and connect with Shirley here - Shirley, recently guided one of our community members on how to find and highlight the best in-demand skills needed to successfully land a Collectors job…
