Seeking Dream Job/Career Shift: Writer
I have 20 years of experience in brand marketing from identifying brand opportunities to leading product launches. You name it, I have done it.
In addition, I started my own business that, for reasons well out of my control, I have to either sell or close it.
But in my unique career journey, I have discovered something (again?) that I should have realized sooner.
I love to write, and I excel at it: blogs, copy, name generation, social media posts, etc. I am happiest when I am putting words on a "page" for an audience to later engage with. And, given that I have spent the majority of my career selling things that people either don't need or shouldn't have, I understand completely the power and tools of persuasion.
Now, I want -- need -- to leverage my skills to fight the good fight. So, if all the stars were aligned, I would want to shine for a compelling cause or worthy political movement.
The question: How can I make this dream career change happen?

How will working at State of Tennessee help me grow a career?

Finding work as a Senior
Hello I want to share my story of finding work after a few years' raising my granddaughter. I had a successful school and working career for 28 years and then I was blessed with the opportunity to take custody of my 3 month old granddaughter when my daughter developed health problems and couldn't keep her. From 2008 until now I have worked part-time, temporary jobs and moved across the country to be a support to my disabled son for a year. We have been on the Central Coast of California now for a few years and I am currently working as In Home Support. I have found that a person can find a job if you're willing to lower expectations and face reality. I had over 20 years customer service/clerical experience, but I accepted house cleaning jobs, seasonal sales associate at WalMart, and even transporting neighbor children back and forth to school. The pay wasn't great, but it was something and kept us going until something better came along, or in addition to that job. As I've gotten older, (I will be 65 in February) I have learned that satisfaction can come in simple things - making sure those kids get safely to school, or making a simple supper for my house-bound client. The recognition and awards that I earned in my earlier working days were important too, but so is the service I'm performing today. Just a thought for anyone feeling like their job isn't important! Happy Holidays to everyone and wishes for a great New Year!! #jobsearch #advice #customerservice #careerchange

Are there any technician jobs out there that are not so rough on your knees and back ?
I have around 30 years of technical experience in just about every facet of the telecom and IT world. I am almost 50 and the years of climbing telephone and power poles and ladders and crawling in crawl spaces and attics and overhead cable runs is taking a toll on my back and knees. #jobsearch #careerchange

I've been climbing cell towers and broadcast towers since the late 90s. I suggest if you want something easy on your knees and back DONT be a tower hand. its very brutal at times. I don't think I need to state the obvious dangers...
