What's the longest job search you've ever experienced?
I am a technical writer/editor and I'm almost at month 16 of no work and close to losing everything. I've put in tens of thousands of applications by now. It's getting so tough to feel any positivity or hope for the future. #advice #jobsearch

I love my job as a Certified Medical Assistant. I love my patients! Some things have not worked out quite like I had planned but maybe it's a blessing in disguise! Looking for something, somewhat still in medical field, that I can do from home that still pays decent! #jobsearch #advice #workfromhome

Almost lost out on a job offer due to a bad reference
Was hired to do virtual workshops, but the company didn't get the contracts they hired me for, so they assigned me other work I wasn't qualified for. I raised an objection to this, and the owner said, "just do your best", which I did. When they continued to not get work, I was verbally notified that I was being laid off. This week, a potential employer did a background check on me, and even though the owner rated me 'Excellent' on all performance categories, they reported that I had been terminated and wrote a very negative review, saying I performed poorly (on the duties I wasn't hired for). I disputed this with the background search vendor, stating that I was not provided any documented notification that I was terminated. Any suggestions? What other recourse do I have? #termination #backgroundcheck #interview #advice

What's one thing you've done to earn respect from a tough boss or skeptical coworker?

I listen to the customer and see what is the issue, than i will give them a solution to help fix it.

Done my job well and avoid all drama, gossip ect. I've got plenty of friends I am at work to work

How would you handle it if they asked "How do we know you won't leave the moment a better opportunity comes along?"

For me, staying in a role comes down to growth, stability, and feeling that I’m contributing in a meaningful way. I’m not looking to jump around—I’m looking for a company where I can build my skills and grow over time.

I would be clear in stating my intentions prior to starting with a company and be transparent on what my goals are. of course, I will always look to advance.

How do you get credit for your work without looking like you're showing off?

By excelling with every opportunity and maintaining exceptional work ethics

How would you handle it if the pay range they mentioned in the interview was lower than what was posted online?

good benefits and job security could handle the discrepancy

I noticed the pay range mentioned is a bit different from what I saw in the posting. Could you help clarify how the compensation is structured for this role?”

Have you ever had a manager who made your job harder instead of easier? How did you handle it?

Yes I did I just did my job thats what im there for

I'm not going to lie I said if your going to make my job harder then you can do my job as well as yours i won't put up with that kind of boss i will quit before I let someone make my job harder even if I really need the job my mental health is more important than the job and not even a amount of money would I stay at a job where a boss makes my job harder than it already is
