How would you handle it if they asked "How do we know you won't leave the moment a better opportunity comes along?"

I would be clear in stating my intentions prior to starting with a company and be transparent on what my goals are. of course, I will always look to advance.

For me, staying in a role comes down to growth, stability, and feeling that I’m contributing in a meaningful way. I’m not looking to jump around—I’m looking for a company where I can build my skills and grow over time.

If I applied for the job I plan on staying I'm on retirement and not making much so not looking to jump from job to job

Well, in all honesty you don't. You should express your long-term goals and desire for stability. Communicate what you can bring to their organization. Focus on the positive. Let them know that there is more to you than chasing a salary. On paper there will always be something that looks much better to you than your current situation. Talk about your mental clarity and maintain eye contact. Sell yourself.

Good Evening, this Is the better opportunity. I took a $5 pay cut then another $3 pay cut. The pay you are paying takes my pay back up to before the $5 pay cut!

I’m serious about the job and a hard worker;won’t leave.

You are my better opportunity

“That’s a fair question. For me, it really comes down to fit. I’m not just looking for any opportunity—I’m looking for the right one where I can contribute, grow, and stay long-term. From what I’ve learned about this role and your company, it aligns with what I’m looking for. When I find that kind of fit, I tend to stay and invest myself fully.”

I believe you are my better opportunity. I've been working since I was 16 years old and I need a job to make ends meet. I also need to be able to work from home for many reasons. This job sounds like it meets all of my wants and needs.
